3.5 - DUTIES OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD CHAIR
3.5.1 - Preside at the meetings of the Conference Executive Board or appoint a representative to preside.
3.5.1.1 - The presiding officer of the PacWest Presidents Meeting must be a President/Chancellor/or CEO of a member institution. In the case that the conference chair cannot preside over the conference presidents’ meeting, the chair shall appoint a vice-chair based on the following order of preference:
- 1st preference - President/CEO/Chancellor of Immediate Past Chair school
- 2nd preference - President/CEO/Chancellor of next Chair in rotation
- 3rd preference (if first or second choices still not available) - the President/CEO/ Chancellor of a designated NCAA-active conference member school will be appointed by the chair. (Updated July 21, 2010)
3.5.2 - Call special meetings of the Conference Executive Board on the request of a majority of the members of the Conference.
3.5.3 - Appoint committees authorized by the Conference Executive Board.
3.5.4 - Represent and vote as a representative of the Conference Executive Board at appropriate meetings including but not limited to the NCAA Convention and NCAA Presidents’ Council.
3.5.5 - Exercise such powers and perform such functions as may be delegated to him/her by a majority vote of the Executive Board.
