IRVINE, Calif. – This week’s PacWest Men’s Cross Country Runners of the Week are Academy of Art’s Valentin Pepiot and Mack Marbas. The awards are based on races held Oct. 13-Oct. 20.
 
Runner of the Week – Valentin Pepiot (Academy of Art)

Pepiot took home 14th place out of 182 runners at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational, leading Academy of Art to a 18th place team finish overall. Pepiot finished the race with a time of 24:04.2, and was the top Division II finisher in a race featuring many Division I competitors. This is the third time this season and second week in a row Pepiot has won weekly honors.
 
Freshman of the Week – Mack Marbas (Academy of Art)
Fr., Florence, Ore./Siuslaw
 
With a new personal record, Marbas finished 80^th out of 182 runners at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational. Crushing his personal best by 40 seconds, Marbas finished the race with a time of 24:55.
