IRVINE, Calif. – The brackets for the 2017 PacWest Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships were finalized with the completion of the regular season on Saturday. The PacWest Basketball Championships will be held March 2-4, 2017, at CU Arena on the campus of Concordia University Irvine.
The quarterfinals begin on Thursday, followed by the semifinals on Friday and finals on Saturday. Each day’s schedule will alternate between men’s and women’s games in the first two rounds. Tickets are available for purchase online now (

(Online purchases are the only way to pay with credit/debit card, cash only at the event). Student tickets will be sold at the door only for $5. Children 12 and under receive free admission.
WOMEN
California Baptist (29-2, 20-0) secured the No. 1 seed with its second-straight PacWest regular season championship. The Lancers set a conference record for wins and became only the second undefeated team in PacWest women’s basketball history. Point Loma (23-4, 17-3) earned the No. 2 seed, the highest in school history, and a bye into the semifinals.
The first quarterfinal features a rematch from last year, with No. 3 Hawai’i Pacific (20-5, 17-3) and No. 6 Dominican (16-11, 12-8) tipping off the tournament on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Dominican beat the defending champion Sharks last years, 66-62, in a 4-5 matchup. Hawai’i Pacific qualified for the tournament for the fifth-consecutive season. Dominican earned the final spot by virtue of a tiebreaker over Academy of Art.
Notre Dame de Namur (15-12, 13-7) will make its tournament debut as the No. 4 seed, facing No. 5 Azusa Pacific (15-13, 13-7) in the quarterfinals at 5 p.m. APU is in the field for the third-consecutive year and won the title last season. NDNU won the only meeting between the two schools, 89-74, on Feb. 23.
MEN
Hawai’i Pacific (26-2, 18-2) claimed the No. 1 seed with its first-ever men’s basketball regular season championship. The Sharks have made the tournament all five years and have a bye for the first time. Defending tournament champion California Baptist (25-3, 17-3) is the No. 2 seed and also has a bye.
No. 3 Dixie State (19-7, 16-4) and No. 6 Point Loma (15-12, 11-9) face off in the first men’s quarterfinal on Thursday at 2:45 p.m. The two teams split the season series, with both games decided by a total of seven points. Dixie State is making its fifth-consecutive appearance in the championship. Point Loma is in the field for the second time.
No. 4 Chaminade (17-10, 13-7) plays No. 5 Azusa Pacific (16-14, 11-9) in the quarterfinals at 7:15 p.m. Chaminade won at Azusa Pacific, 83-71, on Jan. 30. Chaminade is back in the championship for the first time since winning the title in 2014. APU is in the tournament for the third-consecutive season.
