PHOENIX, AZ – Hawai‘i Pacific senior IF Kenny Turner (San Carlos, CA/Junipero Serra) and Sea Warrior senior hurler Danny March (Burlingame, CA/Burlingame) have been named the Pacific West Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, March 22, for games contested March 15-21.

Turner led the Sea Warriors to a 6-0 week in the PacWest and a 7-1 overall mark by hitting .500 in eight starts with a .500 slugging rate and a .593 on-base average.

Danny March He went 8 for 16 during the week with four runs scored, nine RBI and six walks. He also reached base twice  after being hit by a pitch, had three sacrifice flys and a sacrifice bunt, and went 2 for 2 in stolen base attempts.

March earned a win and a save for the Sea Warriors during the week in two relief appearances.

He allowed one run and one hit over three innings of work to earn a save vs. Dixie State on March 15 during HPU’s 17-7 victory.

March then struck out seven in six innings of relief vs. Academy of Art on March 18 in an 8-7 Sea Warrior triumph. He allowed just one run on one hit.

Brett Adams Brett Adams - Dixie State (Sr., 6-4, 215, OF, R/R, Sandy, UT/Alta)...hit .375 in five starts during a 3-2 week for the Red Storm...went 6 for 16 with six runs scored, three doubles, two homers and seven RBI...posted a .938 slugging rate and a .368 on-base mark...was hit by a pitch and recorded a pair of sacrifice flys...stole a base.

Joey Bristyan - Grand Canyon (So., 5-8, 150, CF, L/L, Scottsdale, AZ/Horizon)...led the PacWest in hitting for the week...hit .615 in four-game series at Cal Poly Pomona...went 8 for 13 with four runs scored, a double and six walks...had a .629 slugging rate and a .737 on-base percentage...stole one base.

Sergio Contreras - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 6-3, 225, P, R/R, San Francisco, CA/South San Francisco)...posted a save and a victory in relief for the Sea Warriors during their 7-1 week...produced a 0.00 earned run average in two appearance covering 2.1 innings of action...struck out three, walked one and allowed just two singles...teams hit .222.

Kalehua Moniz Mark Hardy - Grand Canyon (Sr., 6-3, 125, P, R/R, Spanish Fork, UT/Spanish Fork)...earned a victory and a save in relief during a 2-2 weekend series for the Antelopes at Cal Poly Pomona...posted a 3.86 ERA in 4.2 innings of work, striking out five with no walks and just two earned runs.

Kalehua Moniz - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 5-9, 168, IF/OF, R/R, Wailuku, HI/Baldwin)...hit .600 in doubleheader at Dixie State on March 21...went 3 for 5 with a double, RBI and a walk...had an .800 slugging average and a .667 on-base mark.

Justin Prodan - Dixie State (Jr., 6-1, 195, P, R/R, Rohnert Park, CA/Rancho Cotate)...earned a 9-1 victory over Hawai‘i Hilo on March 21...tossed 6.2 innings of work, allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out four...opponents hit just .150.

Bas Nooij - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 6-0, 200, C, R/R, Landsmeer, Netherlands/Caland Lyceum)... helped guide the Sea Warriors to a 7-1 overall mark and a 6-0 record in the PacWest for the week...hit .379 (11 for 29) with eight runs, six RBI, four doubles, two walks, two HBP and two stolen bases...had a sacrifice bunt and a .517 slugging average...also produced a .517 on-base rate.

Drew Oldfield Drew Oldfield - Dixie State (Sr., 6-0, 180, C, S/R, Aurora, CO/Rangeview)...drilled three home runs and drove in 10 runs in a 3-2 week for the Red Storm...went 6 for 18 with four runs scored, a double, a walk and a sacrifice fly...hit .333 with an .889 slugging average and a .350 on-base rate.

Kale Sumner - Hawai‘i Pacific (Fr., 5-11, 190, IF, R/R, Kailua, HI/Kailua)...drove in eight runs and scored 10 others during a 6-0 week in conference action for the Sea Warriors...HPU was 7-1 overall during the stretch...hit .370 with two doubles, five walks, a sacrifice fly and two stolen bases...reached base three times on HBP...was 10 for 27 at the plate...posted a .444 slugging rate and a .500 on-base mark.

Colton Yack - Dixie State (Fr., 5-11, 175, INF, L/R, South Jordan, UT/Bingham)...batted .438 in five starts for the Red Storm during a 3-2 week...went 7 for 16 with six runs scored and a homer...drove in five runs and walked five times...posted a .625 slugging rate and a .571 on-base mark.
