Vulcans sweep final Player of the Week honors
PHOENIX, AZ – Hawai‘i Hilo junior OF Keoni Manago (Honolulu, HI/Roosevelt) and junior hurler Aaron Correa (Hilo, HI/Kamehameha-Hawaii) have been named the Pacific West Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
The awards were announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, May 10, for games contested May 3-9.
Manago led th
e Vulcans to a 3-1 series victory over Academy of Art by hitting
.429 in four starts.
He went 6 for 14 with five runs scored, doubled once and smashed three home runs.
He also walked once, had a 1.143 slugging rate, and produced a .467 on-base mark.
Correa earned a 5-2 win over Academy of Art on May 4 by tossing 6.1 innings. He struck out eight batters and allowed just two runs on seven hits.

Cody Barrett - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 5-8, 180, IF, R/R,
Honolulu, HI/St. Louis)...helped the Vulcans to a 3-1
week by hitting .455 in four games and three starts...went 5 for 11
with three RBI...stole a base...had a .455 slugging rate and a .455
on-base mark.
Stefen Henderson - Academy of Art (Fr., 6-1, 190, IF, R/R, Vallejo, CA/Hogan)...hit .308 in four starts vs. Hawai‘i Hilo...went 4 for 13 with three runs scored...walked twice and had a sacrifice bunt...had a .400 on-base mark.
John Holley - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 6-1, 215, P, R/R, Pahoa, HI/Pahoa)...earned a 4-2 victory in regular-season finale on May 5 vs. Academy of Art...posted a 1.80 ERA in 5.0 innings of action...allowed two hits and one earned run while striking out four...opponents hit .154.
Chris Holmes - Academy of Art (Fr., 6-0, 220, U, R/R, Woodbridge, VA/C.D. Hylton)...hit .429 in two starts for the Urban Knights...went 3 for 7 with two runs scored, one RBI, one walk and a .500 on-base rate...posted a .429 slugging percentage.
Brandon Kistler - Academy of Art (So., 5-11, 200, P, R/R,
Roseville, CA/Woodcreek)...earned a victory over
Hawai‘i Hilo on May 5 in relief...allowed no runs and one hit
on 2.2 innings of work to claim the win...struck out one and walked
just one batter...had a 0.00 ERA and permitted a .111 batting
average.
Chris Pascual - Hawai‘i Hilo (Fr., 5-10, 170, P, L/L, Kapolei, HI/Kamehameha-Kapalama)...picked up a 7-6 victory over Academy of Art on May 4 in relief...produced a 0.00 earned run average and allowed a .000 batting average in 2.0 innings of action...allowed just one walk and one hit batter.
T.J. Pilla - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 5-9, 180, IF, R/R, Lawrenceville, GA/Brookwood)...helped the Vulcans to a 3-1 week by hitting .333 in four starts...went 3 for 9 with a run, a homer and one RBI...3 for 3 in stolen base attempts...walked three times and dropped a sacrifice bunt...had a .667 slugging rate and a .500 on-base mark.
Darnell Quinney - Academy of Art (Jr., 6-1, 215, P/OF, R/R,
Richmond, CA/El Cerrito)...led the PacWest in hitting
for the week with a .500 average...went 6 for 12 in four starts vs.
Hawai‘i Hilo...scored a run, doubled twice and drove in two
runs...walked once and produced a .667 slugging mark...had a .538
on-base rate.
Jonathan Robbins - Academy of Art (So., 5-9, 180, OF, R/R, Charlotte, NC/Providence)...hit .364 in four starts during a 1-3 week for the Urban Knights...was 4 for 11 with four runs scored and one RBI...walked four times and was hit by a pitch...converted 5 of 7 stolen base attempts...had a sacrifice bunt, a .364 slugging rate and a .563 on-base mark.
Ronel Trias - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 5-6, 160, OF, L/R, Mililani, HI/University)...hit .385 in four starts by going 5 for 13 with five runs scored...helped Vulcans to a 3-1 series win over Academy of Art...doubled and homered in the series...walked twice and was 5 for 5 in stolen base attempts...had a .467 on-base mark and a .462 slugging rate.
