Grand Canyon's Gaby Nguondjo earns latest PacWest Men’s Basketball Player of Week award

Gaby Nguondjo (Douala, Cameroon/Little Rock (AR)
Christian) has been selected the Pacific West
Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Jan. 31, for games contested Jan. 24-30.
Nguondjo averaged a double-double in leading the Antelopes to a pair of wins over Chaminade and BYU-Hawaii - two teams ranked in the most recent NCAA II West Region poll.
He averaged 13.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 57.9% (11 for 19) from the floor.
He ranked 10th in scoring, first in rebounding, seventh in shooting and tied for second in blocked shots per game in the PacWest for the week.

steals per game in a 1-1 road trip to the Southwest...ranked third
in scoring for the week in the conference...tied for 10th in foul
shooting for the week after making 8 of 9 (88.9%) from the
line.
Mamadou Diarra - Chaminade (Jr., 7-0, 235, C, Bamako, Mali/Stoneridge Prep)...averaged 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 15.0 points in a tough 0-2 week for the Silverswords...ranked eighth in scoring, first in blocked shot average and second in rebounding for the week in the PacWest...shot 50.0% (10 for 20) from the floor and went 10 for 10 from the line.
Royal Edwards - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 6-6, 210, F, Sacramento, CA/Capital Christian)...led the Sea Warriors to a 3-0 week by averaging 17.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game...ranked fifth in scoring and 10th in rebounding for the week in the conference...shot 47.6% (20 for 42) from the floor...was perfect from the foul line (7 for 7)...averaged 1.7 steals per contest...shot 44.4% ( 4 for 9) from beyond the arc.
Jason Jackson - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 6-8, 220, F/C, Houston, TX/Frisco Centennial)...averaged 11.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in a 3-0 week for the Sea Warriors...tied for sixth in steal attempts and ranked third in rebounding for the week in the conference...shot 80.0% (8 for 10) from the line.
Griffon Jones - Dixie State (Jr., 6-8, 220, F, Cheney,
WA/Cheney)...averaged 12.0 points and 7.0 rebounds
per game in leading the Red Storm to a 1-1 week against two teams
ranked in the NCAA II West Region poll - Chaminade and
BYU-Hawaii...shot 53.3% (8 for 15) from the floor...tied for ninth
in shooting, tied for sixth in rebounding and tied for 12th in
scoring in the PacWest for the week.
Killian Larson - Dominican (CA) (So., 6-10, 260, C, Puyallup, WA/Puyallup)...averaged 24.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Penguins...led Dominican to its first win of the season...led the PacWest in scoring and ranked ninth in rebounding for the week in the conference...led the PacWest in shooting for the week...shot 72.7% (16 for 22) from the field.
