Chaminade junior Mamadou Diarra selected PacWest Men's Basketball Player of the Week
PHOENIX, AZ - Chaminade junior center Mamadou
Diarra (Bamako, Mali/Stoneridge Prep) has been
selected the Pacific West Conference Men’s Basketball Player
of the Week.
The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Nov. 29, for games contested Nov. 22-28.
Diarra led the Silverswords to a 2-2 record during the week, including a huge upset of Division I Oklahoma, by averaging 14.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game.
He led the league in blocked shots for the week while ranking fourth in rebounding and tying for eighth in scoring.
He also was eighth in shooting after making 56.5% (26 for 46) of his field goal attempts.
In addition to Oklahoma, Diarra piled up his stellar week against #2 Michigan State and Wichita State - both Division I - and Carleton (CA).

Keith Davis - Academy of Art (Jr., 6-4, 205, F, Long Beach, CA/Long Beach)...averaged 15.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Urban Knights...tied for fifth in scoring and tied for 10th in rebounding for the week in the PacWest...made 3 of 5 (60.0%) three-point attempts.
Adrian den Dulk - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 6-9, 230, F, Ripon, CA/Ripon Christian)...scored 15 points and collected six rebounds in lone game of the week for the Sea Warriors - a 66-60 victory over Carleton (CA) on Nov. 26...shot 66.7% (6 for 9) from the floor.
Jeff Ford - Notre Dame de Namur (Jr., 6-0, 190, G, Hayward, CA/Hayward)...averaged 17.5 points per game and shot 50.0% (8 for 16) from the floor despite 0-2 week for the Argos...tied for second in scoring for the week in the PacWest...shot 85.7% (18 for 21) from the foul line.
Will Overton - Academy of Art (Fr., 6-5, 195, F, Trenton, NJ/Leuzinger)...averaged 18.5 points while shooting 51.9% (14 for 27) from the field in 1-1 week for the Urban Knights...led the PacWest in scoring for the week...made 5 of 5 free throw attempts...drained 4 of 10 three-point trys (40.0%)...ranked second in rebounding for the week in the league after pulling down 10.0 per game.
Kyle Speed - Grand Canyon (Jr., 6-0, N/A, G, Seattle, WA/Lake
Washington)...ranked 10th in scoring in the PacWest
for the week...averaged 14.0 points and 5.0 assists per contest in
0-2 week for the Antelopes...ranked fourth in assist average...shot
50.0% (9 for 18) from the floor...made 6 of 7 (85.7%) foul
shots...hit 4 of 7 (57.1%) three-point attempts.

Zach Wilde - Hawai‘i Hilo (Jr., 6-7, 220, F, Snohomish, WA/Snohomish)...scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds in lone game of the week - a 74-53 win over Western New Mexico on Nov. 22...led Vulcans to 74-53 win over Western New Mexico on Nov. 22 by scoring 26 points and collecting nine rebounds...shot 76.9% (10 for 13) from the floor.
