Key showdown when Dixie State visits CBU in PacWest Men’s Basketball Game of the Week
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Dixie State will travel to
Riverside, Calif., on Saturday, Feb. 18 to
complete the second half of a home-and-home series with California
Baptist in the latest PacWest
Game of the Week.
The game also can be heard live on the Dixie State network.
Each week during the men’s basketball season, the PacWest will spotlight a game that will be broadcast live over the Internet.
The Lancers are looking to climb back into the chase for the title, while the Red Storm is hoping to take one more step toward a conference crown and a berth in the NCAA II Tournament when the teams tip off at 7:30 p.m. (PST).
Dixie State is coming off a 77-59 win over California Baptist in
St. George, Utah, on Feb. 14 that kept the Red Storm atop the
PacWest standings. Dixie State is 13-1 in the league and 18-4
overall.
CBU (15-5/9-4 PacWest) is in a must-win situation if the Lancers hope to stay in the chase for the conference crown.
Dixie State junior forward/center Derek Owen (St. George, UT/Dixie) led the Red Storm to the win over the Lancers earlier in the week. He scored 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and collected five rebounds.
Junior guard McKay Massey (Payson, UT/Payson) totaled 13 points in the victory, while senior guard Maurice Cole (Norwalk, CA/Sante Fe) tallied 11 points with five assists.
CBU senior forward Justus Von Wright (Arcadia, CA/Van Nuys) led all scorers in the contest with 18 points, wile junior center Luke Evans (Oceanside, CA/El Camino) contributed 10.
