Grand Canyon senior guard Nick Witherill named PacWest Men’s Basketball Player of Week

PHOENIX, AZ - Grand Canyon senior guard Nick Witherill (Phoenix, AZ/Highland) has been selected the Pacific West Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Nov. 28, for games contested Nov. 21-27.

Witherill led the Antelopes to a 2-0 week, including a 67-58 victory over #22 Seattle Pacific on Nov. 25. The Falcons entered the game unbeaten.

Witherill was outstanding from the line, shooting 81.8% after making 18 of 22 free throw attempts.

He averaged 15.5 points, 2.5 steals and 4.5 assists per game, tying for third in steal average, ranking fourth in assist average, and tying for sixth in scoring for the week in the PacWest.

He also led the conference in assist/turnover ratio (4.5) for the week.

Brady Hurst - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 6-8, 225, F, Farmington, UT/Davis)...averaged 16.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Seasiders...tied for fourth in scoring and tied for 12th in rebounding for the week in the PacWest...hit 15 of 23 (65.2%) shots from the floor to rank fifth in field goal percentage for the week...also averaged 2.5 assists per game.

Terrell Mack - Hawai‘i Hilo (Jr., 6-4, 175, G/F, Portland, OR/Fort Vancouver)...led Vulcans to 2-0 week by averaging 17.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game...ranked second in scoring and tied for third in rebounding for the week in the PacWest...shot 52.2% (12 for 23) from the field and 81.8% (9 for 11) from the line.
