BYU-Hawaii’s DeAndre Medlock earns PacWest Men’s Basketball Player of Week honor
PHOENIX, Ariz. – BYU-Hawaii junior center DeAndre Medlock (Fresno, CA/West Clovis) has been selected the Pacific West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The conference announced the award on Monday, Feb. 25, for games played Feb. 18-24.
Medlock led the Seasiders to a 2-0 week by averaging 19.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 71.4% from the floor.
He netted 15 of 21 buckets from the field, ranking 11th in shooting in the PacWest for the Week. He also tied for 13th in scoring and tied for 10th in rebounding during the seven-day stretch.
Medlock led the Seasiders to a 77-69 home victory vs. Azusa Pacific on Feb. 18, and pushed BYU-Hawaii to an 80-75 victory at Dixie State on Feb. 23.

C.J. Brown (Sr., 6-1, 170, G, Sacramento, CA/Kennedy) – Hawai'i Hilo – led the Vulcans to a 78-62 victory over Hawai'i Pacific on Feb. 18 – the lone contest of the week for the Vulcans…victory kept UHH in playoff hunt…scored 14 points, handed out eight assists and posted four steals in the win.
Alex Carmon (Fr-r., 6-3, 195, G, Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Poly) - Academy of Art – averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game in a 1-1 week for the Urban Knights…shot 56.5% (13 for 23) from the floor…shot 75.0% (9 for 12) from the line.
Jammall Clark (Sr., 6-6, 220, F, Redlands, CA/Redlands East Valley) – Dominican – averaged 17.0 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Penguins…was outstanding from the foul line…went 16 for 17 (94.1%) (left photo).
Ian Collins (Sr., 6-3, G, Santa Rosa, CA/Piner) – Holy Names – averaged 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week…ranked seventh in scoring and tied for 14th in rebounding for the week in the PacWest…tied for 16th in field goal percentage for the week…shot 66.7% (16 for 24) from the floor.
Micah Dunhour (So., 6-5, 190, G, Honolulu, HI/Academy of the Pacific) – Notre Dame de Namur – averaged 20.0 points per game despite a 0-2 week for the Argos…tied for third in scoring in the PacWest for the week…shot 60.9% (14 for 23) from the field.
Luke Evans (Sr., 6-8, 230, C, Oceanside, CA/El Camino) – California Baptist – led Lancers to a 78-54 win over PLNU on Feb. 21 – the lone game of the week for CBU…scored 19 points while shooting 81.8% (9 for 11) from the field.
Devin Golston (Jr., 6-6, 200, F, Cerritos, CA/Gahr) – Dominican – averaged 17.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game during a 2-0 week for the Penguins…shot 57.7% (15 for 26) from the field and 66.7% (4 for 6) from three-point land…tied for fifth in three-point shooting, tied for second in rejection average, tied for 11th in scoring, and tied for 17th in rebounding for the week in the PacWest.
Malcolm Griffin (Jr., 6-4, 210, G/F, Chicago, IL/Hyde Park Academy) – Fresno Pacific – led Sunbirds to an 80-72 victory over PLNU on Feb. 23 by amassing 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
De'Andre Haskins (Sr., 6-4, 205, G, Long Beach, CA/Jordan) – Chaminade – led Silverswords to an 81-74 win over Azusa Pacific on Feb. 21 in lone game of the week for Chaminade…scored 19 points, collected 10 rebounds, and shot 90.9% (10 for 11) from the foul line.
Troy Leaf (So., 6-3, 195, G, San Diego, CA/Foothills Christian) – Azusa Pacific – averaged 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 three-pointers made per game despite a 0-2 week for the Cougars…ranked second in scoring, tied for 17th rebounding, tied for eighth in assist average, and ranked fifth in three-pointers made per contest in the PacWest for the week.
Joshua Lowery (Sr., 6-3, 200, G, Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista) – Grand Canyon – led Antelopes to a 78-67 win over HPU on Feb. 23 – the lone game of the week for GCU…scored 20 points, snagged six rebounds, doled out five assists and shot 70.0% (7 for 10) from the field…tied for 12th in shooting in the PacWest for the week…shot 85.7% (6 for 7) from the line.
Michael Melonas (Sr., 6-6, 255, F, Ventura, CA/Ventura) – Hawai'i Hilo – led the Vulcans to a 78-62 victory over Hawai'i Pacific on Feb. 18 – the lone contest of the week for the Vulcans…victory kept UHH in playoff hunt…totaled 17 points while unleashing a perfect shooting percentage from the field (7 for 7) during the victory…also had a pair of steals.
Steve Morin (Sr., 6-5, 195, G, Scottsdale, AZ/Saguaro) – Grand Canyon – helped Antelopes to a 78-67 win over HPU on Feb. 23 – the lone game of the week for GCU…scored 20 points while shooting 50.0% (6 for 12) from three-point land…tied for 12th in three-point shooting for the week in the league (right photo).
Bennie Murray (Sr., 6-5, 180, G, Fairfield, CA/Will C. Wood) – Chaminade – led Silverswords to an 81-74 win over Azusa Pacific on Feb. 21 in lone game of the week for Chaminade…scored 20 points and collected seven rebounds in the win…went 8 for 8 from the line to share the PacWest lead in foul shooting for the week…also shot 57.1% (4 for 7) from beyond the arc – tied for ninth in the PacWest for the week.
Zach Robbins (So., 6-10, 200, F/C, Upland, CA/Upland) – Dixie State – totaled 22 points, 11 rebounds, seven blocked shots, four assists and two steals in a tough 80-75 loss vs. BYU-Hawaii on Feb. 23…went 6 for 6 at the line…shot 72.7% (8 for 11) from the field…tied for eighth in the PacWest in field goal percentage for the week.
