Dixie State’s Zach Robbins named PacWest Men’s Basketball Player of Week

Zach Robbins PHOENIX, Ariz. – Dixie State sophomore forward/center Zach Robbins (Upland, CA/Upland) named the Pacific West Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The conference announced the award on Monday, Dec. 3, for games played Nov. 26 – Dec. 2.

In the Red Storm’s lone contest of the week, Robbins led Dixie State to an 82-64 victory over Hawai‘i Hilo on Dec. 1 by scoring 17 points, collecting 14 rebounds and blocking a pair of shots.

He made 66.7% (6 for 9) of his attempts from the field to rank 11th in shooting for the week in the PacWest.

Trevon Clayton (So., 6-5, 200, F, Orlando, FL/Ocoee) – Fresno Pacific – scored 10 points, blocked three shots and grabbed 12 rebounds off the bench while shooting 55.6% (5 for 9) from the field in lone game of the week – a 95-62 non-conference victory over UC Merced on Nov. 28.

Pablo Coro (So., 6-3, 190, G, Osorno, Chile/Juan Diego, UT) – BYU-Hawaii – scored 17 points on 55.6% shooting (5 for 9) from three-point land in leading the Seasiders to an 83-74 win over HPU on Dec. 1…lone game of the week for BYU-Hawaii…PacWest league opener for both teams…also had a pair of steals in the win.

Luke Evans Luke Evans (Sr., 6-8, 230, C, Oceanside, CA/El Camino) – California Baptist – averaged 12.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Lancers…shot 56.2% (9 for 16) from the field and 77.8% (7 for 9) from the line (right photo).

Tyler Fry (Jr., 6-3, G, Yuba, CA/Yuba City) – Holy Names – scored 21 points and had three steals in lone game of the week – a 76-56 loss to Dominican on Dec. 1 in the PacWest opener for both clubs…hit 5 of 9 three-point attempts (55.6%) and 6 of 7 free throw (85.7%) shots.

Malcolm Griffin (Jr., 6-4, 210, G/F, Chicago, IL/Hyde Park Academy) – Fresno Pacific – scored 25 points in lone game of the week – a 95-62 non-conference victory over UC Merced on Nov. 28…shot 69.2% (9 for 13) from the field…recorded three steals and hit 5 of 7 (71.4%) three-point attempts…ranked sixth in three-point shooting and 10th in field goal percentage for the week in the PacWest.

Andy Jones (So., 6-5, 195, F, Tempe, AZ/Marcos de Niza) – Azusa Pacific – scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds in leading the Cougars to their first PacWest Conference victory in men’s basketball – a 51-50 triumph at Point Loma on Dec. 1…was 6 for 6 from the foul line.

Killian Larson (Jr., 6-9, 270, C, Puyallup, WA/Puyallup) – Grand Canyon – averaged 8.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 non-conference week for the Antelopes…shot 70.0% (7 for 10) from the field…tied for seventh in shooting for the week in the PacWest.

Jacob Noisat Joshua Lowery (Sr., 6-3, 200, G, Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista) – Grand Canyon – averaged 13.0 points, 4.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 50.0% (10 for 20) from the floor in a 2-0 non-conference week for the Antelopes…tied for eighth in the PacWest in assist average for the week…posted a 1.3 assist/turnover ratio.

Jacob Noisat (Sr., 6-8, 225, C, Santa Rosa, CA/Elsie Allen) – Dominican – averaged 11.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Penguins…tied for seventh in rebounding for the week in the league…shot 55.6% from the field (10 for 18)…scored 12 points in close loss vs. Division I Sacramento State on Nov. 27 (left photo).

Ameer Shamsud-din (Sr., 6-2, 200, G, Portland, OR/Benson) - Academy of Art – totaled 17 points, six rebounds and five assists in 76-68 loss at NDNU on Dec. 1…contest was the lone game of the week for the Urban Knights and PacWest opener for both squads…was perfect at the foul line (5 for 5).

John Taylor (Jr., 6-1, 175, G, Chicago, IL/North Lawndale) – Fresno Pacific – totaled 25 points, four assists and seven rebounds in lone game of the week – a 95-62 non-conference victory over UC Merced on Nov. 28…was perfect at the foul line (8 for 8).

Jelany White (Jr., 5-11, 155, G, Los Angeles, CA/Crenshaw) – Hawai‘i Pacific – scored 21 points in lone game of the week – an 83-74 loss at BYU-Hawaii in the PacWest opener on Dec. 1…was perfect from beyond the arc (3 for 3) and led the PacWest in three-point shooting for the week.

Wesley White (Sr., 6-7, 210, F/C, Los Angeles,CA/Inglewood) – Notre Dame de Namur – averaged 10.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Argos…ranked fourth in rebounding and tied for seventh in shooting (70.0% / 7 for 10) in the PacWest for the week…hit 6 of 8 free throw attempts (75.0%).
