Dixie State’s Zach Robbins repeats as PacWest Men’s Basketball Player of Week

Zach Robbins PHOENIX, Ariz. – Dixie State sophomore forward/center Zach Robbins (Upland, CA/Upland) repeated as the Pacific West Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The conference announced the award on Monday, Dec. 10, for games played Dec. 3-9.

During the Red Storm’s 1-1 week that featured an 87-78 win vs. Chaminade on Dec. 3 and an 82-80 loss at the buzzer at Fresno Pacific on Dec. 8, Robbins was dominant at both ends of the court. He averaged 19.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game, including 10.5 boards on the defensive glass.

Robbins tied for fourth in scoring for the week and shared the top spot in rebounding while shooting 75.0% (18 for 24) from the field.

He tied for fifth in field goal percentage and tied for seventh in steals per game for the week (2.0) in the PacWest.

Jerome Garrison (So., 6-3, 180, G, Phoenix, AZ/Mountain Pointe) – Grand Canyon – averaged 11.5 points in leading the Antelopes to a 2-0 week…was perfect at the foul line (7 for 7)…averaged 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game as well.

Devin Golston (Jr., 6-6, 200, F, Cerritos, CA/Gahr) – Dominican – scored 13 points while shooting 50.0% (5 for 10) from the floor in leading the Penguins to a 60-56 win over NDNU on Dec. 8 – the lone game of the week for Dominican.

Malcolm Griffin Malcolm Griffin (Jr., 6-4, 210, G/F, Chicago, IL/Hyde Park Academy) – Fresno Pacific – averaged 13.3 points, 4.7 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for the Sunbirds…ranked 12th in assist average and 22nd in scoring for the week in the conference…drained buzz-beater in 82-80 win over Dixie State on Dec. 8 (Right Photo).
