GCU, Dixie State, Hawai‘i Hilo ready for NCAA II Super Regional in Litchfield Park, AZ
LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ – The Grand
Canyon, Dixie State and Hawai‘i Hilo men’s golf teams
begin the battle for the 2012 NCAA Division II Central/West Super
Region Golf Championship May 7-9 at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield
Park, AZ.
Grand Canyon University is serving as the host institution with live stats for the event available at www.gculopes.com.
The field includes 20 teams from the Central and West Regions in a three-day, 54-hole tournament held May 7-9 on the par-72 Gold Course. Eight individuals from the Central and West regions also will compete in the event.
The top five teams and top two individuals not with a team will
advance to the national championships May 15-19 at The Cardinal
Club in Simpsonville, KY.
Teams representing the Central Region include Colorado-Colorado
Springs, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State-Pueblo, Western
New Mexico, Nebraska-Kearney, St. Cloud State, Minnesota State
Mankato, Colorado Mesa, Bemidji State and Concordia-St. Paul.
The individuals from that region are Eric Hieb from Augustana,
Minkyu Jeon from Colorado Christian, Charlie Laudermilk from Fort
Lewis and Jon Anderson from Upper Iowa.
In addition to the three PacWest teams, the West Region field
includes Cal State Stanislaus, Chico State, Western Washington, Cal
State Monterey Bay, UC San Diego, Cal State East Bay and St.
Martin’s.
Individuals from the West Region include Troy Davis from Notre Dame
de Namur, Garrett Howard from Cal State San Bernardino, Jon Scolari
from BYU-Hawai’i and Steven Warne from Sonoma State.
