GCU tied for 10th after opening round of NCAA II Nationals; Dixie State’s Kyle Chappell 47th
SIMPSONVILLE, KY – The Grand Canyon University
men’s golf team is tied for 10th after the opening
round of the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament.
The four-day event is being held May 15-19 at The Cardinal Club Golf Course in Simpsonville, KY.
The Antelopes have posted a four-over-par 292 team score and are being led by Ryan Mahoney who fired a one-under-par 71 to tie for 14th overall.
GCU’s Tyler Wooldridge is tied for 23rd after he unleashed a first-round even par score of 72, while Mark Geddes is tied for 47th with a two-over-par 74.
Kyle Chappell, the individual representative from Dixie State, also is tied for 47th after firing a 74.
Grand Canyon’s Brandon Moore and Marcus Synegal are tied for 60th overall after each player posted a three-over-par 75.
