Matt Terry reclaims Player of Week award
PHOENIX, AZ - For the second time in three weeks,
Hawai‘i Pacific senior goalkeeper
Matt Terry (Honolulu, HI/Saint Louis
School) has been selected the Pacific West Conference
Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
The final weekly honor of the 2009 campaign was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Nov. 9, for games contested Nov. 2-8.
Terry again was outstanding in three PacWest games during the week, boasting a 3-0-0 record with a 0.88 goals against average and a .750 save percentage.
He halted 6 of 8 shots on net in 205:02 of action, blanking Chaminade 5-0 on Nov. 3, defeating Hawai‘i Hilo 2-1 on Nov. 5, and stopping BYU-Hawaii 2-1 in double-overtime on Nov. 7 to close out the season.

Chance Bukoski - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 6-0, 185, F, Lihue,
HI/Kapaa)...recorded five points on two goals and one
assist in a 3-0-0 week for the Sea Warriors...scored game's first
goal and assisted on game-winner in 2-1 twin-overtime victory vs.
BYU-Hawaii on Nov. 7...tallied game-winning goal in 5-0 victory at
Chaminade on Nov. 3.
Matthew Carlson (left) - Dominican (CA) (Fr., 6-4, n/a, F, San Diego, CA/Mira Mesa)...halted all three shots flung his way in a 1-0 overtime victory at Dixie State on Nov. 3...played 99:51 of flawless action in net.
Kyle Ciliento - Grand Canyon (Fr., 5-10, 168, F, Phoenix, AZ/Pinnacle)...blasted home a hat-trick vs. Academy of Art on Nov. 7 in a 5-0 victory...scored game's first two goals and then finished off scoring...ended game with six points.
Ikaika Fuerte (right) - Hawai‘i Pacific (Fr., 5-10, 170, M,
Kapaa, HI/Kapaa)...posted five points on a goal and
three assists in a 3-0-0 week for the Sea Warriors...scored
game-winning goal in 2-1 victory vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Nov.
5...assisted on three scores in 5-0 win at Chaminade on Nov. 3.
Omar Garcia - Hawai‘i Hilo (So., 5-8, 135, F, Lynwood, CA/Lynwood)...scored two goals and finished game with four points during a 6-2 victory vs. Chaminade on Nov. 7 to close out the year.
Brent Knoblauch - Dixie State (Jr., 5-10, 160, M, Seattle, WA/Snow Canyon)...scored two goals and totaled four points in three games for the Red Storm...tallied game-tying goal in 2-1 loss vs. NDNU on Nov. 7...scored insurance goal in 3-0 shutout of Academy of Art on Nov. 5.
Adam Maciejewski - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., 6-1, 200, M, Hamburg, Germany/Margaretha-Rothe Gymnasium)...scored a goal in each game during the week for the Seasiders...BYU-Hawaii posted a 2-1-0 mark...tallied the game-winning goal in 1-0 victory over Hawai‘i Hilo on Nov. 3...scored once in a 4-1 stomping of Chaminade on Nov. 5...tallied game-tying goal in a 2-1 double-overtime loss at Hawai‘i Pacific on Nov. 7.
Joseph Mora (left) - Notre Dame de Namur (Fr.-r, 5-10, 180, GK,
Las Vegas, NV/Silverado)...had a 1-0-1 week for the
Argos...halted two shots on net and handled the ball well in 200
minutes of action...forged a 0-0 double-overtime draw with Grand
Canyon on Nov. 5...beat Dixie State 2-1 on Nov. 7...both games came
on the road.
Ben Paneccasio - Grand Canyon (Jr., 6-3, 183, GK, Sydney, Australia/Rosenban K College)...recorded a pair of shutouts in 200 minutes of action to finish off the 2009 campaign...posted a 0-0 double-overtime draw with NDNU on Nov. 5...had a 5-0 victory vs. Academy of Art on Nov. 7.
Luis Segovia - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 5-8, 150, D, Whittier, CA/California)...scored two goals and finished game with four points during a 6-2 win vs. Chaminade on Nov. 7 to close out the year.
