Hawaii Hilo's Alex Parra selected PacWest Men's Soccer Player of the Week
PHOENIX, AZ - Hawai‘i Hilo sophomore goalkeeper
Alex Parra (Westchester, CA/St. Monica
Catholic) has been selected the Pacific West
Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Sept. 27, for games played Sept. 20-26.
Parra posted a 2-0-0 record in two starts for the Vulcans with a 0.50 goals against average and a .917 save percentage.
He registered 11 saves during the week and earned a 2-0 shutout win over Academy of Art on Sept. 22. He then halted nine shots on goal in a 2-1 win at Dominican (CA) on Sept. 24.

Frank Barnes - Notre Dame de Namur (So., 5-6, 140, M, Las Vegas,
NV/Cheyenne)... scored two goals and had an assist in
5-0 win over Dixie State on Sept. 20...finished with a five-point
game...credited with game-winner.
Viktor Bezhani - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., 5-11, 175, M, Tirana, Albania)...scored game-tying goal vs. Chaminade at 83:36 on a penalty kick...tallied game-winner on a penalty kick 2:41 into overtime...finished the game with four points on the two goals in lone game of the week for the Seasiders.
Chance Bukoski - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 6-0, 185, F, Lihue, HI/Kapaa)...assisted on first three goals in 5-0 win vs. Academy of Art on Sept. 25...finished game with three points.
Kyle Ciliento - Grand Canyon (So., 5-10, 170, F, Phoenix, AZ/Pinnacle)...helped lead GCU to 2-0-0 week with a pair of shutouts by scoring two goals and totalling four points...tallied a goal off a free kick at 5:37 to give GCU a 1-0 lead vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Sept. 20...goal would prove to be game-winner in 4-0 Antelope victory...tallied insurance goal in 2-0 blanking of NDNU on Sept. 22.
Robin Furuya - Hawai‘i Hilo (Fr., 5-11, 145, F,
Japan)...tallied game-winning goal at 83:50 against
Dominican (CA) on Sept. 24...goal gave Vulcans 2-1 road
victory.
Armando Garcia - Notre Dame de Namur (Fr., 6-0, 160, F, Redwood City, CA/Sequoia)...had a goal and an assist vs. Dixie State in 5-0 NDNU win on Sept. 20...finished game with three points.
Richard Guffens - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 6-5, 200, F, Leiden, Netherlands)...scored a goal and added two assists in 5-0 win vs. Academy of Art on Sept. 25...finished contest with four points...credited with the game-winner.
Ben Paneccasio - Grand Canyon (Sr., 6-2, 185, GK, Sydney, Australia/Rosebank College)... served up two more shutouts in the Bay Area for the Antelopes...totaled just four saves but handled ball well over 180 minutes of scoreless action...has recorded four straight shutouts...extended shutout streak to 425:16.
Pat Perkins - Grand Canyon (Sr., 6-0, 185, F, Bremerton, WA/Bremerton)...registered a five-point week on two goals and an assist...led GCU to a 2-0-0 mark in the Bay Area...scored twice in 4-0 GCU win over Hawai‘i Hilo on Sept. 20...assisted on insurance goal in 2-0 win over NDNU on Sept. 22.
Christian Soto - Hawai‘i Hilo (Jr., 5-9, 170, F, Whittier, CA/California)...scored a pair of goals and totaled four points over three games during the week for the Vulcans...helped UHH to a 2-1-0 record...scored game’s first goal in 2-1 win at Dominican (CA) on Sept. 24...tallied insurance goal on Sept. 22 at Academy of Art.
