NDNU senior forward Cristobal Montes named PacWest Men’s Soccer Player of the Week

Cristobel Montes PHOENIX, AZ - Notre Dame de Namur senior forward Cristobal Montes (Tijuana, Mexico/John F. Kennedy) has been named the Pacific West Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 31, for games played Oct. 24-30.

Montes led the Argonauts to a 2-0-0 week by totaling six points on three goals. He scored an insurance goal in the 59th minute in 2-0 victory over BYU-Hawaii on Oct. 24

Montes then scored both goals in a 2-1 victory at Dixie State on Oct. 27. He tallied the goals 2:03 apart at 50:41 and 52:44.

PacWest Men’s Soccer Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll

Erik Anderson Erik Anderson - Dominican (CA) (Fr., 6-1, 180, GK, Davis, CA/Davis Senior)...had outstanding week despite posting 0-1-1 mark...had 26 saves in two games, recording an .897 save percentage and 1.29 GAA...suffered 1-0 loss in overtime...earned 2-2 double-overtime tie vs. BYU-Hawaii...played 208:49 in just two games.

Leonardo Bartelle - Academy of Art (So., 5-10, 170, F, Caxzas do Sul, Brazil)...totaled four points on goal and two assists in 4-0 shutout of Pacific Union on Oct. 28...scored game’s second goal to put Art U ahead 2-0 at 34:11...registered assists on game’s final two goals.

Chance Bukoski - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 6-0, 170, F, Kapaa, HI/Kapaa)...posted a seven-point effort against Chaminade on Oct. 29 in 5-0 victory...scored three goals and added an assist...credited with the game-winner.

Andrew Cruz - Academy of Art (Sr., 5-7, 150, F, Pleasanton, CA/Foothill)...scored two goals and totaled four points in 1-1 week for the Urban Knights...scored game-winner on Oct. 28 in 4-0 shutout of Pacific Union...also had a goal in 4-3 loss vs. BYU-Hawaii on Oct. 26.

Andrew Cruz Isiah Castro - Notre Dame de Namur (Sr., 5-11, 185, GK, Watsonville, CA/Watsonville)...had a 3-0-0 week in net...posted a 0.37 goals against average in 241:37 of action...earned a 2-0 win vs. BYU-Hawaii on Oct. 24...claimed a 2-1 win at Dixie State on Oct. 27...picked up a 1-0 shutout at Dixie State on Oct. 29...had six saves and an .857 goals against average.

Mark Davis - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., 5-9, 170, M, West Jordan, UT/Copper Hills)...scored two goals and totaled four points in a 1-1-1 week for the Seasiders...both goals came in 2-2 double-overtime draw vs. Dominican (CA) on Oct. 28...scored game’s first goal at 12:40...forced overtime with game-tying goal at 76:00.

Phillip Durner - Academy of Art (Fr., 6-2, 175, D, Germering, Germany)...scored two goals and totaled four points in 1-1 week for the Urban Knights...scored game’s final goal in 4-0 shutout of Pacific Union on Oct. 28...also had a goal in 4-3 loss vs. BYU-Hawaii on Oct. 26.

Kevin Freitas - Grand Canyon (Jr., 5-10, 175, M, Dallas, TX/North Canyon)...scored both goals, including the game-winner in overtime, during a 2-1 Antelope victory vs. California Baptist on Oct. 27...finished game with four points.

Patrick Heinemann - Academy of Art (So., 6-1, 160, M, Bergisch Gladbach, Germany)...had five points on two goals and one assist in a 1-1 week for the Urban Knights...scored a goal and added an assist in 4-0 blanking of Pacific Union on Oct. 28...had a goal and two assists in 4-3 loss vs. BYU-Hawaii on Oct. 26.

Lane Lorenzo - Hawai‘i Hilo (Fr., 6-0, 170, F, Kailua-Kona, HI/Kealakehe)...scored the game-tying goal at 72:43 in Vulcans 1-1 twin-overtime draw vs. Chaminade on Oct. 26.
