Grand Canyon senior Saeed Robinson selected 2012 PacWest Men’s Soccer Player of Year

Saeed Robinson PHOENIX, Ariz. – Grand Canyon senior forward Saeed Robinson (Portmore, Jamaica) has been selected the 2012 Pacific West Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Year.

The PacWest presented its major men’s soccer awards and the 2012 All-PacWest Team on Thursday, Nov. 15, live during the conference’s PacWest Radio Show on KQCK.

Robinson was one of 44 players to receive All-PacWest honors as the conference announced its expanded awards featuring a First, Second and Third Team, as well as an Honorable Mention squad.

Petar Draksin, Grand Canyon’s head coach, repeated as the PacWest Coach of the Year after earning the honor in 2011.

Fresno Pacific rookie forward Alvaro Nogales (Malaga, Spain) was named the 2012 PacWest Freshman of the Year, while 2012 Newcomer of the Year honors went to Azusa Pacific junior midfielder Oktay Bulut (Ruesselsheim, Germany).

California Baptist junior netminder Joey Pacheco (Riverside, CA/Martin Luther King) repeated as the PacWest Goalkeeper of the Year.
