PHOENIX, Ariz. – Hawai'i Pacific junior forward Alejandro Porras (Begues, Spain/IES Begues) has been selected the third Pacific West Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for 2012.

The conference announced the honor on Thursday, Oct. 4, for games contested Sept. 10-16.

Porras figured in all five of HPU's goals in 5-1 win over Hawai'i Hilo on Sept. 15, setting a PacWest record with four assists in the game.

He amassed six points in the contest, scoring once while setting up the remaining other four goals.

Dominic Escalera (Fr., 5-10, 165, M, Riverside, CA/La Sierra) – California Baptist – totaled three points on a goal and an assist during a 2-1-0 week for the Lancers…ignited comeback vs. Fresno Pacific on Sept. 13 after Lancers fell behind 2-0…scored CBU's first goal at 39:05…assisted on game-winner at 80:05.

Jonathan Gonzalez (Jr., 6-2, 180, F, Bloomfield, NJ/Bloomfield) - Notre Dame de Namur – scored both goals and finished game with four points in a 2-1 win over Dixie State on Sept. 15…credited with game-winning score…lone contest of the week for the Argos.

Jonmundur Gretarsson (So., 5-6, 145, F, Gardabaer, Iceland) – Academy of Art – totaled four points on a goal and two assists during a 1-1 week for the Urban Knights…assisted on both goals, including game-winner, in a 2-1 win vs. Azusa Pacific on Sept. 13…scored goal in 3-2 loss vs. PLNU on Sept. 15.

Pedro Guevara (Sr., 5-5, 145, M, Santa Rosa, CA/Montgomery) - Dominican – amassed five points on two goals and an assist in a 5-0 shutout vs. William Jessup on Sept. 11…credited with game-winner.

Kolby Mitnick (So., 5-8, 155, F, Newcastle, CA/Del Oro) - Dominican – totaled six points on three goals after recording a hat-trick vs. William Jessup on Sept. 11 in a 5-0 win.
