HPU senior Dany Mally chosen PacWest Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

PHOENIX, AZ - Hawai‘i Pacific senior Dany Mally (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada/Sainte Famille) has been chosen the Pacific West Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 24, for races contested Oct. 22.

In the final race before the PacWest Championship, Mally captured the 2011 Chaminade Invitational by finishing first. He covered the 4.7-mile course through Central Oahu Regional Park in a time of 23:57.

Matt Belliston - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-10, 155, Loveland, OH/Milford)...led Seasiders to a first-place finish in final tune-up race before the PacWest Championship...finished second at the Chaminade Invitational on Oct. 22...completed the 4.7-mile course through Central Oahu Regional Park in a time of 24:24.

Jorge Cisneros - Chaminade (Fr., 5-8, N/A, Lake Elsinore, CA/Lakeside)...finished first among Silversword runners and sixth overall at the Chaminade Invitational on Oct. 22...completed the 4.7-mile course through Central Oahu Regional Park in a time of 24:57.

James Clay - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 6-2, 155, Bloomington, IL/University)...placed fifth among Seasider runners and eighth overall at the Chaminade Invitational on Oct. 22...ran the 4.7-mile course through Central Oahu Regional Park in a time of 25:10.

Jon Cleghorn - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 5-11, 140, Fredericton, NB, Canada/Fredericton)...finished second among Sea Warrior entries and fifth overall at the Chaminade Invitational on Oct. 22...ran the 4.7-mile course through Central Oahu Regional Park in a time of 24:39.

Spencer Deavila - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 5-10, 145, Orange County, CA/Highland)...helped BYU-Hawaii to a first-place finish in last race before the PacWest Championship...finished fourth at the Chaminade Invitational on Oct. 22...covered the 4.7-mile course through Central Oahu Regional Park in a time of 24:29.

Nick Jones - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 5-11, 145, San Clemente, CA/San Clemente)...placed sixth among Seasider runners and ninth overall at the Chaminade Invitational on Oct. 22...ran the 4.7-mile course through Central Oahu Regional Park in a time of 25:15.

Yuki Kitahara - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 5-5, 110, Sagamihara, Japan/Kamimizio Minami)...finished fourth among Seasider runners and seventh overall at the Chaminade Invitational on Oct. 22...completed the 4.7-mile course through Central Oahu Regional Park in a time of 24:58.
