HPU’s Dany Malley earns All-Region honors after taking 16th at NCAA II West Regional
SPOKANE, WA – Hawai‘i Pacific senior
Dany Malley (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada/Sainte
Famille) claimed All-Region honors for finishing in
the Top 25 of the 2011 NCAA II West Region Cross Country
Championship Saturday, Nov. 5, in Spokane, WA.
Malley placed 16th overall in a field of 123 runners by recording a time of 31:41 on the 10K course. The race was held at the Plantes Ferry Sports Complex.
Runners who finish in the Top 25 earn All-Region accolades by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Malley was the highest finisher among all PacWest entries.
In the team standings, BYU-Hawaii finished 12th with 306 team points, while Grand Canyon took 14th with a 332 team score.
Grand Canyon senior Kipkorir Mutai (Bomet, Kenya) was the top runner among all Antelope entries and finished second among PacWest competitors after producing a time of 32:15. He finished 28th overall and just missed earning All-Region honors.
