Grand Canyon junior Kip Mutai named PacWest Men’s XC Runner of Week

PHOENIX, AZ - Grand Canyon junior Kip Mutai (Bomet, Kenya/Kabusare) has been named the Pacific West Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 4, for races contested Oct. 1-2.

Mutai finished third overall at the Arizona State Desert Twilight Cross Country Festival on Oct. 1.

He posted a time of 15:11.4, finishing behind a pair of Division I runners from the University of Arizona.

Rasmus Folino - Hawai‘i Pacific (Fr., 6-30, 165, Hillerod, Denmark)...was 137th out of 239 runners at the 36th Charles Bowles Invitational hosted by Willamette University in Salem, OR, on Oct. 2...posted a time of 26:47.44 on the 8K course...finished third among HPU entries.

Jonathon Glocknitzer - Dominican (CA) (Jr., 5-6, 110, Minden, NV/Douglas)...finished ninth overall at the Sonoma State Invitational on Oct. 2...finished the three-mile race in 21:14.

Edgar Gutierrez - Dominican (CA) (So., 5-8, 140, Tomales, CA/Tomales)...placed eighth overall and third among Penguin entries at the Sonoma State Invitational on Oct. 2...finished the three-mile race in 18:55.

Willie Heinrich - Dixie State (Fr., 6-0, 150, Washington, UT/Pine View)...placed eighth overall and second among Red Storm runners at Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 2...recorded a time of 28:49.5 on the 8K course.

Craig Kandler - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 5-10, 130, Hawaii Kai, HI/Kaiser)...placed 194th out of 239 runners at the 36th Charles Bowles Invitational hosted by Willamette University in Salem, OR, on Oct. 2...posted a time of 28:08.56 on the 8K course...finished fifth among HPU entries.

Anders Ludvigsen - Hawai‘i Pacific (Fr., 5-10, 130, Odense, Denmark/Tietgen Business College)...finished second among Sea Warrior runners at the 36th Charles Bowles Invitational hosted by Willamette University in Salem, OR, on Oct. 2...registered a time of 26:04.61 on the 8K course...finished 97th out of 239 runners.

Luke Peck - Dixie State (Fr., 5-9, 145, St. George, UT/Pine View)...finished seventh overall and first among Red Storm runners at Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 2...recorded a time of 28:42.0 on the 8K course.
