Grand Canyon's Lubken, Searcy claim PacWest weekly honors

PHOENIX, AZ – Grand Canyon seniors Tracy Lubken (Scottsdale, AZ/Horizon) and Amy Searcy (Bixby, OK/Bixby) have been named the Pacific West Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, March 22, for games contested March 15-21.

Lubken led the Antelopes to a 6-0 week by hitting .529 in six starts. She went 9 for 17 with six runs scored, four doubles, two homers and 11 RBI.

She walked three times and hit a sacrifice fly while producing a stunning 1.118 slugging rate. She also had a .609 on-base percentage.

Searcy, a native of Oklahoma, posted a 3-0 mark with a 1.24 earned run average. She registered two shutouts in her three starts, tossed three complete games and allowed just three earned runs in 17 innings of work.

Searcy also struck out nine batters while walking just three. She permitted a .258 batting average by opponents.

Ivy Campas - Grand Canyon (So., 5-2, P, R/R, Tucson, AZ/Sunnyside)...posted a 3-0 week with a 2.67 ERA...tossed three complete games over 21 innings...struck out 12...helped Antelopes to a 6-0 week.

Breanna Egge - Dixie State (Jr., 5-4, C, R/R, Las Vegas, NV/Centennial)...hit .500 in a 2-2 week for the Red Storm...went 6 for 12 with four runs scored, a double, a home run, and three RBI in four starts...walked three times and stole three bases...posted an .833 slugging rate and a .600 on-base mark.

Sierra Green Sierra Green - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 5-5, OF, L/R, Longmont, CO/Longmont)...batted .444 in eight starts for the Vulcans...went 12 for 27 with five runs scored, a triple, homer and two RBI...walked once, stole a base and had a sacrifice bunt...registered a .630 slugging average and a .464 on-base rate.

Bailie Hicken - Dixie State (So., 5-4, OF, L/R, Cedar Hills, UT/Lone Peak)...hit .467 in four starts for the Red Storm...Dixie State posted a 2-2 record...went 7 for 15 with six runs scored, one double and one RBI...walked three times and converted 7 of 8 stolen base attempts...had a .533 slugging mark and a .556 on-base percentage.

Sherise Musquiz Nicole Morrow - Hawai‘i Pacific (Fr., 5-7, U, R/R, Puyallup, WA/John Rogers)...led the PacWest in hitting for the week...batted .571 in four starts...went 8 for 14 with three doubles, four RBI, one run scored and a walk...had a .786 slugging mark and a .600 on-base average.

Sherise Musquiz - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 6-0, R/R, Pico Rivera, CA/El Rancho)...registered a 3-0 week in three appearances and two starts...produced two complete-game wins including a shutout...struck out nine in 16.1 innings of action...permitted just three earned runs and a .286 batting average.

Mary Ortega - Notre Dame de Namur (Fr., 5-7, P/IF, R/R, San Jose, CA/Piedmont Hills)...batted .500 for the Argos in six starts during the week...was 9 for 18 with four runs scored and five RBI...smashed two home runs...walked twice and dropped a sacrifice bunt...had an .833 slugging rate and a .550 on-base mark.

Christina Pedroza Christina Pedroza - Hawai‘i Hilo (Jr., 5-6, P, R/R, La Mirada, CA/La Mirada)...collected two victories and a save in six appearances for the Vulcans...struck out 15 in 26.1 innings of work...recorded a 3.99 ERA and a 2-1 record for the week...started three contests and tossed one complete game.

Ciera Senas - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 5-4, OF, L/R, Wahiawa, HI/Mililani)...led the Sea Warriors to a 4-0 week by hitting .500 in four starts...was 8 for 16 with four runs, two RBI and two stolen bases...reached base after being hit by a pitch...had a .500 slugging mark and a .529 on-base average.
