HPU softball set to receive state honor

HONOLULU, HI - After earning its first NCAA Division II National Championship, the Hawai‘i Pacific University softball team will receive an Accommodation Award by Lieutenant Governor Duke Aiona.

The presentation will be in the Ceremonial Room at the State Capital this Thursday, June 17, at 10:30 a.m.

On Monday, May 31, HPU defeated Valdosta State University in the championship game of the NCAA Division II Softball World Series.

The Sea Warriors closed the season as the nation’s top-ranked team and set a team record with 50 total wins.
