HPU’s Sherise Musquiz and Maile Kim Named NFCA All-Americans

Maile Kim Hawai‘i Pacific University’s Sherise Musquiz and Maile Kim earn NFCA All-American accolades

St. JOSEPH, Mo – Hawai‘i Pacific’s Sherise Musquiz and Maile Kim were named to the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-American Team.

The announcement was made on Wednesday evening, May 26, at the NCAA Banquet of Champions on the eve of the Division II College World Series.

Musquiz and Kim became the first Sea Warriors named to the All-America Team since HPU became an NCAA II program in 1999.

Musquiz, who was named to the First Team, currently holds a 30-3 record with a 1.05 earned run average and has 100 strikeouts on the season.

Her All-America selection is the latest in a line of recent accolades as Musquiz was recently named the PacWest Pitcher of the Year and Daktronics West Region Co-Pitcher of the Year.

Kim earned Third Team honors after being named All-PacWest and All-Region. She started all 54 games this season for the Sea Warriors, recording a .583 slugging percentage with 45 RBI, five doubles, and a team-high nine home runs.
