PHOENIX, AZ – The Pacific West Conference has jumped four teams into the Top 8 of the most recent NCAA Division II West Region Softball Rankings, improving the conference chances of landing a quartet of clubs in the national championship tournament.

Hawai‘i Pacific remains the number one team in the West Region, while Grand Canyon climbed to number two in the region after holding down the third seed last week.

Hawai‘i Hilo moved up a notch from sixth to fifth, while Dixie State made the most important leap from ninth to seventh. The top eight teams in each region are selected to the NCAA II National Championship Tournament in May.

Dixie State is the reigning West Region Champion.

The NCAA Division II Softball Committee released its weekly rankings on Wednesday, April 14, from its office in Indianapolis. The records are through April 12 and reflect each team’s overall Division II mark and its record in the West Region.
