PHOENIX, AZ – Grand Canyon junior OF Teddy Barry (Phoenix, AZ/Greenway) and Hawai‘i Pacific senior pitcher Sherise Musquiz (Pico Rivera, CA/El Rancho) have been named the Pacific West Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, March 29, for games contested March 22-28.
Musquiz had a phenomenal week that included an All-Tournament Team selection in the Tournament of Champions event.
During the last week, Musquiz posted a 6-0 week with a 0.52 ERA in six starts and seven appearances. She also had a save, two shutouts, a combined shutout and five complete games.
Musquiz struck out 20 batters in 40 innings of work and allowed just three earned runs, while opponents managed to hit just .151.
Barry also was named to the All-Tournament Team of the Tournament of Champions last weekend after leading Grand Canyon to a 7-2 week and a first-place finish in the Silver Bracket.
She hit .556 in nine starts, going 15 for 27 with 13 runs
scored, four doubles, four homers and 13 RBI. She also walked five
times and was 5 for 5 in stolen base attempts.
Barry contributed a .588 on-base rate and a 1.148 slugging mark.

Alana Aweau - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-10, IF, L/R, Fairfield,
CA/Armijo)...batted .583 in 4-0 week for the Urban
Knights...went 7 for 12 with a run, two doubles, one homer and four
RBI...walked once and stole two bases...had a sacrifice
fly...posted a 1.000 slugging mark and a .571 on-base rate.
Ivy Campas - Grand Canyon (So., 5-2, P, R/R, Tucson, AZ/Sunnyside)...recorded a 5-2 record in seven appearances and four starts...tossed four complete games...registered a 2.35 ERA with 23 strikeouts and 13 earned runs allowed over 38.2 innings of work...allowed a .286 batting average.
Shampayne Clay - Academy of Art (Sr., 5-7, IF, R/R, San Leandro, CA/Arroyo)...led the Urban Knights to a 4-0 week by hitting .615 in four starts...led the league in hitting for the week...went 8 for 13 with five runs scored, two homers and eight RBI...walked twice and posted a 1.077 slugging average...also had a .667 on-base rate.
Kimberly Dauer - Academy of Art (Fr., 5-6, P, R/R, Los Osos, CA/Morro Bay)...recorded a 2-0 week with a 0.58 earned run average in two starts...posted two complete games...allowed one earned run in 12 innings of action...struck out 15...allowed just a .261 batting average.
Breanna Egge - Dixie State (Jr., 5-4, C, R/R, Las Vegas,
NV/Centennial)...named to the Tournament of Champions
All-Tournament Team...helped Dixie State to a 9-2 record that
included a 4-0 mark in the PacWest...batted .400 in 11 games and 10
starts...went 12 for 30 with eight runs scored, three doubles, two
triples, two homers and 11 RBI...had an .833 slugging rate and a
.438 on-base mark...was 3 for 3 in stolen base attempts...dropped a
sacrifice bunt and walked twice.
Lauren Folta - Dixie State (So., 5-5, P, R/R, Erda, UT/Tooele)...posted a 5-0 week in six starts for the Red Storm...tossed five complete games with a 3.37 earned run average...recorded 20 strikeouts in 35.1 innings of action...opponents hit just .235.
Sierrah Garcia - Academy of Art (So., 5-7, P, L/R, Los Banos, CA/Los Banos)...registered a 2-0 week with one shutout and two complete games in two starts...had a 1.00 ERA in 14 innings of action...allowed just two earned runs while striking out 25 hitters...allowed a .146 batting average.
Kara Holtorf - Grand Canyon (So., 5-7, OF, L/R, Peoria, AZ/Sunrise Mountain)...named to the Tournament of Champions All-Tournament Team...helped the Antelopes to a 7-2 record during the week...hit .472 in nine starts...went 17 for 36 with 13 runs scored, one double and two RBI...had a .500 slugging rate and a .486 on-base average...was 5 for 6 in stolen base attempts...reached base once after being hit by a pitch.
Shantae Hunter - Dixie State (Sr., 5-5, 2B, R/R, Idaho Falls, ID/Idaho Falls)...led Dixie State to a 9-2 week and a 4-0 mark in conference play...hit .531 in 11 starts by going 17 for 32 with 12 runs scored, three doubles, one homer and 11 RBI...had a .719 slugging rate and a .564 on-base mark...converted 5 of 6 stolen base attempts...walked five times and hit a pair of sacrifice flys.
Tracy Lubken - Grand Canyon (Sr., 5-6, OF, L/R, Scottsdale, AZ/Horizon)...batted .423 in nine starts for the Antelopes in a 7-2 week for GCU...went 11 for 26 with 12 runs scored, 12 RBI and three doubles...walked seven times, hit a sacrifice fly and was hit by a pitch...had a .538 slugging rate and a .543 on-base mark.
