ROLLA, MO – Grand Canyon freshman SS Kelsey Barak (Fontana, CA/Etiwanda) has been selected a 2012 Daktronics, Inc. Division II Honorable Mention All-America.

The national coordinator announced the honors on Tuesday, May 15, from Rolla, MO. The All-America selections are nominated and voted upon by Division II sports information directors from throughout the country.

Barak, who was a Daktronics, Inc., Division II West Region First Team member, the Pacific West Conference Player and Freshman of the Year, and an All-PacWest First Team selection, had an outstanding rookie season in 2012.

The freshman hit .408 in 57 starts for the Antelopes, totaling 73 base hits, 43 runs scored, 11 doubles, six triples, eight home runs, 22 walks and 54 runs batted in.

She posted a .670 slugging percentage and a .474 on-base rate.
