NDNU's Meggan Craviotto, HPU's Breanne Patton earn latest PacWest Player, Pitcher awards
PHOENIX, AZ - Notre Dame de Namur's Meggan Craviotto and
Hawai‘i Pacific's Breanne Patton earned the
latest Pacific West Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week
awards, respectively.
The PacWest announced the awards on May 2 from its office in Phoenix, AZ, for games contested April 25 - May 1.
(May 2, 2011) - Player of the Week (April 25 - May 1)...Meggan Craviotto - Notre Dame de Namur (Jr., 5-6, IF, R/R, San Mateo, CA/Aragon)...led the Argos to a 5-0 week by hitting .714 in five games and four starts...went 10 for 14 with seven runs, one double and two homers...drove in five runs...posted a 1.214 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base mark...also had a sacrifice fly.
(May 2, 2011) - Pitcher of the Week (April 25 - May
1)...Breanne Patton - Hawai‘i
Pacific (Jr., 5-7, P/1B, R/R, Ewa Beach,
HI/Campbell)...led HPU to share of PacWest
Championship and berth in NCAA II Playoffs by claiming both wins
vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on April 30...HPU needed two wins to share
title with Dixie State...posted a 2-0 record with 1.31
ERA...allowed two earned runs while striking out five over 10.2
innings...walked two...picked up win in relief in game two...HPU
won 9-3...allowed one run on five hits over 3.2 innings...struck
out four while allowing one earned run over 7.0 innings in 2-1 win
vs. UHH in game one.
PacWest Softball Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll
Robin Araujo - Notre Dame de Namur (Jr., 5-7, IF, R/R, Campbell,
CA/Westmont)...batted .556 in five starts during a
5-0 week for the Argos...went 10 for 18 with six runs scored, a
double, a triple and two homers...drove in nine runs...walked once
and stole a base...had a .579 on-base mark and a 1.056 slugging
rate.
Melissa Awa - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 5-6, IF, R/R, Kaneohe, HI/Kamehameha-Kapalama)...led Sea Warriors to a share of the PacWest title and a berth in the NCAA II National Championship...hit .600 in doubleheader sweep of Hawai‘i Hilo on April 30 by going 3 for 5 with a run, a triple and two RBI...had a 1.000 slugging rate and a .600 on-base percentage.
Alana Aweau - Academy of Art (Sr., 5-10, IF, L/R, Fairfield, CA/Armijo)...helped the Urban Knights to a 2-3 week...hit .474 in five starts...went 9 for 19 with four runs scored, two doubles, two homers, two walks and 11 RBI...was hit by a pitch and stole a base...had an .895 slugging rate and a .545 on-base mark.
Teddy Barry - Grand Canyon (Sr., 5-7, OF L/R,
Glendale, AZ/Greenway)...helped the Antelopes to a
2-2 weekend vs. Art U...went 9 for 17 with four runs, two doubles,
two homers and 13 RBI...walked once and was 2 for 2 in stolen base
attempts...
had a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .556 on-base rate.
Anna Cue - Dixie State (So., 5-5, 1B/OF, L/L, Murrieta Valley, CA/Murrieta)...helped the Red Storm to a 1-1 week and a share of the PacWest Championship...hit .571 in two starts...went 4 for 7 with a run, two doubles and three RBI...posted an .857 slugging percentage and a .571 on-base rate.
Maile Kim - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 5-4, U, R/R, Salinas, CA/Notre Dame)...led Sea Warriors to a share of the PacWest title and a berth in the NCAA II National Championship...hit .600 in doubleheader sweep of Hawai‘i Hilo on April 30 by going 3 for 5 with two runs, a double, a homer and five RBI...walked twice and posted a 1.400 slugging rate...also had a .714 on-base mark.
Sammy McConvey - Notre Dame de Namur (So., 6-0, P/IF, R/R, Livermore, CA/Livermore)...led Argos to 5-0 week...tossed two complete-game victories...had 1.17 ERA...allowed two earned runs in 12.0 innings...struck out six and walked one...earned 4-2 win vs. Williams Jessup April 25...had 13-5 win on April 30 vs. Dominican (CA).
Vanessa Ramirez - Grand Canyon (Jr., 5-3, OF L/R, Phoenix, AZ/St.
Mary’s)...helped the Antelopes to a 2-2 week by
hitting .583 in four games and three starts...went 7 for 12 with
two runs...had a stolen base and a sacrifice hit...recorded a .583
slugging mark and a .583 on-base average.
Kristina Sewell - Notre Dame de Namur (Sr., 5-7, P/OF ,R/R, Arroyo Grande, CA/Nipomo)...posted a 2-0 week with a 3.18 ERA...started two contests and was credited with one complete game...struck out nine over 11.0 innings of action...walked three batters and allowed five earned runs...picked up 3-1 win over William Jessup on April 25...allowed one earned run over 4.0 innings of work...struck out seven in complete-game, 8-5 win over Dominican (CA) on April 30.
Jayme Stewart - Academy of Art (So., 5-10, C, R/R, Shingle Springs, CA/Ponderosa)...helped the Urban Knights to a 2-3 week...hit .500 in five starts...went 8 for 16 with three runs scored, one double, one home run, four walks and six RBI...had a .750 slugging rate and a .600 on-base mark.
