Dominican’s Kayleigh Klingberg named first PacWest Softball Player of the Week for 2013

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Dominican junior INF/OF Kayleigh Klingberg (Castle Rock, WA/Castle Rock) has been selected the first Pacific West Conference Softball Player of the Week for 2013.

The conference announced the honor on Thursday, Feb. 21, for games contested Feb. 1-3 - the opening weekend of the season.

Klingberg led the Penguins to a 2-2 start to the season by hitting .462 in four starts. She posted a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .462 on-base mark all while going 6 for 13 at the plate with four runs scored, a double, two homers and seven runs batted in.
