NDNU junior OH Christina Villamayor selected PacWest Volleyball Player of the Week
PHOENIX, AZ - Notre Dame de Namur junior outside hitter
Christina Villamayor (Poway, CA/Poway)
has been selected the latest Pacific West Conference Volleyball
Player of the Week.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Nov. 8, for matches played Nov. 1-7.
Villamayor led the Argonauts to a 2-1 week with a 3-0 win at Dominican (CA) on Nov. 6 and a 3-2 upset at Hawai‘i Pacific on Nov. 1.
She led the PacWest in points per game by averaging 4.35 over 13 sets. She totaled 56.5 points on 54 kills, two aces and a block assist, while also topping the league in kills per game (4.15).
On defense, Villamayor averaged 4.46 digs per contest, ranking sixth in the league for the week. She totaled a PacWest-best 58 over 13 sets.

Natasha Bell - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 5-9, OH, Sunnyvale, CA/The Kings Academy)...tied for sixth in the PacWest in points per game for the week (3.50)...totaled 42 on 36 kills, five aces and a block solo...tied for seventh in kills per game (3.00)...tied for fourth in aces per set (0.42) for the week.
Seluia Falealili - Dominican (CA) (Fr., 5-9, OH, Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Poly)...averaged 4.00 kills and points per game for the week...totaled all her points on a dozen kills in loss vs. NDNU...ranked third in scoring and second in kills per game for the week in the PacWest.
Poerava Gantt - Chaminade (Jr., 5-10, MB, Kapaa, HI/Kapaa)...helped the Silverswords to a 1-1 week by averaging 3.85 points and 3.50 kills per game...ranked fourth in scoring and kills per game in the league for the week...totaled 38.5 points on 35 kills and seven block assists...ranked sixth in hitting with a .292 average for the week...also strong on defense with 36 digs...averaged 3.60 per game to rank 10th in the league for the week.
Lauren Hagemeyer - BYU-Hawaii (So., 6-1, OH, Ridgway,
CO/Ridgway)...led Seasiders to a 3-2 win over Academy
of Art, BYU-Hawaii’s lone match of the week...ranked sixth in
the league in kills per game (3.20) after posting 16 in the
win...finished contest with 18.5 points that included five block
assists...averaged 3.70 points per game to rank fifth in the league
for the week.
Tara Huckvale - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 6-3, MB, LaGrange, KY/Oldham County)...helped the Seasiders to a 3-2 win over Academy of Art...lone match of the week for BYU-Hawaii...ranked second in hitting in the conference for the week with a .421 percentage...had 10 kills and just two errors in 19 attempts vs. Urban Knights...tied for the league lead in blocks per game for the week (1.40)...totaled seven on six assists and one solo.
Leinani Keanini - Academy of Art (Jr., OH, 5-7, Kailua, HI/Iolani)...ranked first in total digs (79) and second in digs per game (5.64) in the PacWest during a 1-2 week.
Crystal Powell - Chaminade (Fr., 5-10, OH, Honolulu, HI/Word of
Life)...helped the Silverswords to a 1-1 week by
averaging 3.50 points and 3.40 kills per game...tied for sixth in
points per game and ranked fifth in kills per game in the league
for the week...totaled 35 points on 34 kills and one ace.
Sanoe Recca - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 5-9, OH, Honolulu, HI/Kamehameha Schools)...ranked ninth in kills per game and tied for eighth in points per game in the PacWest for the week...averaged 2.89 kills per game and 3.10 points per set...had 15.5 points on a block assist, one ace and 14 kills.
Dan Yang - Academy of Art (Sr., OH, 6-2, Beijing, China/Beijing 5th Sports School)...ranked second in scoring and third in kills per game for the week in the PacWest...totaled 60 points on 55 kills, eight block assists and an ace...averaged 4.29 points per game...led the league in total points and kills for the week...averaged 3.93 kills per game.
