NDNU senior OH Christina Villamayor collects PacWest Volleyball Player of the Week award
PHOENIX, AZ - Notre Dame de Namur senior outside hitter
Christina Villamayor (Poway, CA/Poway)
has been named the Pacific West Conference Volleyball Player of the
Week.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 24, for matches contested Oct. 17-23.
Villamayor led the Argos to a 2-1 week after averaging 5.50 points per set. She totaled 71.5 points on 60 kills, seven aces, three block solos and three block assists. She ranked second in points per set, third in kills per set (4.62) and third in aces per set (0.54) in the PacWest for the week.

Bailey Agnello - Notre Dame de Namur (Fr., 5-8, S, Santa Cruz,
CA/Aptos)...helped the Argos to a 2-1 week by leading
the PacWest in total assists with 129...ranked fifth in assists per
set with a 9.92 average.
Melissa Cheng - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-10, S, Sunnyvale, CA/Homestead)...helped the Urban Knights to a 1-1 week by hitting .333 and averaging 8.12 assists per set...tied for ninth in hitting for the week in the PacWest...ranked eighth in assists per set...totaled 65 assists over the two matches.
Ying Chun Chen - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 5-7, S, Kaohsiung, Taiwan/Chung Shan)...led Seasiders to a 3-0 sweep of Hawai‘i Hilo on Oct. 22 - lone match of the week for BYU-Hawaii...led the PacWest in assist average (14.33) for the week...totaled 43 assists in the win over the Vulcans.
Jelena Dragovic - California Baptist (So., 6-3, MB, Belgrade, Serbia)...helped CBU to 2-0 week by leading the PacWest in hitting (.559)...recorded 21 kills with just two errors in 34 attempts for the week...ranked fifth in aces per set (0.43)...had six service aces in 14 sets...ranked sixth in blocks per set (1.14)...totaled eight blocks on seven assists and one solo.
Jen Hardman - Dixie State (Fr., 5-9, S, American Fork, UT/American Fork)...helped propel the Red Storm to a sweep of Chaminade at home on Oct. 20 and 21...tied for second in the PacWest in assists per set (12.00) for the week...compiled 84 assists in seven sets...ranked second in the league for the week in aces per set (0.71)...totaled five aces in the two matches.
Jayci Jeffress - Dixie State (Sr., 5-7, L/DS, Brighton,
UT/Brighton)...helped Red Storm to a sweep of
Chaminade at home on Oct. 20 and 21...ranked second in digs per set
for the week in the PacWest...totaled 38 to average 5.43 per
set.
Stephanie McBride - Grand Canyon (Sr., 5-11, MH, Newbury Park, CA/Newbury Park)...helped Antelopes to a 3-0 record during the week, including a 2-0 mark in conference action...ranked fifth in hitting for the week in the PacWest with a .373 percentage...had 26 kills and four errors in 59 attempts...ranked third in block average (1.44)...had 13 blocks on 11 assists and two solos.
Kristen Preach - Grand Canyon (Jr., 5-10, S, Phoenix, AZ/Xavier Prep)...helped Antelopes to a 3-0 record during the week, including a 2-0 mark in conference action...ranked third in hitting for the week in the PacWest with a .387 percentage...had 15 kills and three errors in 31 attempts...ranked fourth in assists per set for the week (11.78)...totaled 106 assists in nine sets.
Bree Rauschenbach - California Baptist (Sr., 6-0, MB, Wildomar, CA/California Lutheran)...was third in scoring for week in the PacWest...averaged 5.21 points per set...totaled 36.5 points on 24 kills, 10 aces, one block solo and three block assists...topped the league in aces per set (1.43)...ranked 10th in kills per set (3.43).
Alex Shearer - Dixie State (Sr., 5-10, RS, Park City, UT/Park City)...helped lead Red Storm to 2-0 week by averaging 5.00 points per set - fifth-best in the PacWest for the week...totaled 35 points on 30 kills, two aces and six block assists...ranked sixth in PacWest for the week in kills per set (4.29).
