California Baptist's Ingrid Carmona claims PacWest Volleyball Player of the Week award
PHOENIX, AZ - California Baptist junior opposite
Ingrid Carmona (Santo Domingo, Dominican
Republic/Universidad APEC) has been named the Pacific
West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the third time
this year.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Nov. 14, for matches contested Nov. 7-13.
Carmona led the Lancers to a 4-0 week by averaging 5.31 kills and 5.85 points per set - both tops in the PacWest for the week.
She totaled 76 points on 69 kills and four aces over 13 sets, hitting .388 in the process.
She ranked ninth in hitting in the PacWest for the week, recording her 69 kills with 12 errors in 147 total attempts.

Ying Chun Chen - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 5-7, S, Kaohsiung, Taiwan/Chung
Shan)...averaged 10.67 assists per set for the week -
third-best in the PacWest...totaled 64 assists in six sets and a
pair of sweeps for the Seasiders.
Melissa Cheng - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-10, S, Sunnyvale, CA/Homestead)...helped Urban Knights to a 3-1 win vs. NDNU to close out the season...marked lone match of the week for Art U...averaged 13.00 assists per set to rank second in the league for the week.
Jelena Dragovic - California Baptist (So., 6-3, MB, Belgrade, Serbia)...helped lead CBU to a 4-0 week by hitting .525 in 13 sets...led the PacWest in hitting for the week...totaled 38 kills with just six errors on 61 attempts...ranked eighth in the PacWest for the week in blocks per set (1.08)...totaled 14 block assists in 13 sets.
Lauren Hagemeyer - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 6-1, OH, Ridgway,
CO/Ridgway)...tied for fourth during the week in the
PacWest in hitting (.444)...helped the Seasiders to a 2-0
record...totaled 23 kills in 45 attempts while committing just
three errors...ranked seventh in kills per set (3.83) for the
week...ranked seventh in blocks per set (1.17)...totaled seven
blocks on six assists and one solo...also ranked seventh in scoring
for the week with a 4.50 points-per-set mark...totaled 27 points
during the week.
Caelen Hiller - Grand Canyon (So., 5-11, OH, Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope)...helped GCU extend winning streak to 14 straight matches during 3-1 win over Dixie State...averaged 5.00 kills per set in the win...totaled 21.5 points on 20 kills, a block assist and an ace...ranked third in scoring and tied for third in kills per set for the week in the PacWest.
Hillary Hurley - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 6-2, MB, Anderson, CA/Enterprise)...led Vulcans to a 3-0 sweep of Chaminade in final match of the season on Nov. 12...hit .417 in the match with 13 kills and three errors on 24 attempts...averaged 4.33 kills and 5.00 points per set in the match...ranked fifth in kill average and in scoring for the week in the PacWest...tied for seventh in hitting...ranked sixth in blocks per set (1.33).
Leinani Keanini - Academy of Art (Sr., 5-7, OH, Kailua, HI/Iolani)...helped Art U to a 3-1 victory over NDNU in final match of the season...averaged 5.25 kills and 5.50 points per set...ranked second for the week in both categories in the PacWest...led the PacWest in digs per set for the week with a 7.25 per-set average...totaled 29 digs in the match...amassed 22 points on the 21 kills and an ace.
Taylor Parker - California Baptist (So., 6-0, S, San Diego,
CA/Scripps Ranch)...ranked fourth in assists per set
for the week...led CBU to a 4-0 mark...averaged 10.15 assists after
totaling 132 in 13 sets.
Kristen Preach - Grand Canyon (Jr., 5-10, S, Phoenix, AZ/Xavier Prep)...helped Antelopes to a 3-1 win over Dixie State to close out the regular season...led the PacWest in assists per set for the week with a 13.25 average...totaled 53 assists in four sets...hit .417 in the match with five kills and no errors in 12 attempts...ranked seventh in hitting for the week...tied for sixth in digs per set for the week with a 4.50 per set average...totaled 18 digs.
Christina Villamayor - Notre Dame de Namur (Sr., 6-1, OH, Poway, CA/Poway)...averaged 4.90 points and 4.10 kills per set despite a 0-3 week for the Argos...ranked sixth in scoring and in kills per set for the week in the PacWest...totaled 49 points on 41 kills, three aces, three block solos and four block assists.
