GCU's Samantha Murphy becomes Antelopes' all-time leading scorer

HILO, HI - Samantha Murphy (Phoenix, AZ/Xavier Prep) became Grand Canyon University's women's basketball all-time leading scorer and the 'Lopes finished their four-game Hawai'i road trip with win No. 4 by downing Hawai‘i Hilo 69-48 at UHH Gymnasium on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Murphy, a junior, scored a team-high 16 points to give her 1,286 for her career. Jennifer Cobb, who played from 2002-07, had 1,281 points.

GCU (16-7, 10-2) came back from a two-point halftime deficit and outscored the Vulcans 43-20 in the second half.

With the score tied 34-34, GCU went on a 9-0 run and continued to build its lead over the final 20 minutes.
