NDNU's Katie Zasly named PacWest Player of the Week

PHOENIX, AZ - Notre Dame de Namur junior guard Katie Zasly (Foster City, CA/Aragon) has been named the Pacific West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Dec. 14, for games contested Dec. 7-13.

Zasly led the Argos to a 1-1 week by averaging 15.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

She ranked third in scoring and tied for fifth in rebounding for the week, while her shooting landed her third in the PacWest for the week.

She shot 61.1% (11 for 18) from the field, tied for second in steals per game (2.5), and tied for sixth in free throw shooting (75.0%) after making 6 of 8 from the line.

She also averaged 2.0 assists per contest and led the league in minutes played for the week (35.5).

Raquel Gomes - Dominican (CA) (Jr., 5-10, C, Santa Rosa, CA/Montgomery)...led the Penguins to a 1-1 week...averaged 8.5 rebounds per contest to lead the PacWest for the week...doled out 2.5 assists per contest to tie for sixth...averaged 6.0 points per game.

Kelsey Janusch - Dominican (CA) (Jr., 5-8, G, Novato, CA/Marin Catholic)...helped guide the Penguins to a 1-1 week...averaged 7.0 rebounds and 9.5 points per game...ranked fourth in rebounding and 10th in scoring in the PacWest for the week.
