Dixie State's Deanna Daniels earns PacWest weekly honors
PHOENIX, AZ - Dixie State freshman forward Deanna Daniels (North Las Vegas, NV/Centennial) has been named the Pacific West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Tuesday, Feb. 16, for games contested Feb. 8-14.
Daniels scored 23 points and pulled down seven rebounds in a 73-64 victory over Hawai‘i Hilo on Feb. 14 - the Red Storm's lone game of the week.
She tied for the league lead in scoring, tied for eighth in rebounding, and ranked seventh in shooting (66.7% / 8 for 12) from the field for the week. She also contributed three steals.

Jazzmin Awa-Williams - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 5-9, F, Kona,
HI/Konawaena)...averaged 13.5 points, 3.0 assists and
7.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Sea Warriors...tied for
12th in scoring, tied for fifth in rebounding and ranked fifth in
shooting (73.3%) for the week in the PacWest...made 11 of 15 field
goal attempts.
Megan Kamehiro - Chaminade (So., 5-6, G, Honolulu, HI/Kalani)...averaged 16.0 points per game despite an 0-2 week for the Silverswords.
Hina Kimitete - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 5-3, G, Kailua-Kona, HI/Konawaena)...averaged 15.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 steals per game in a 1-1 week for the Vulcans...ranked first in steals per game, tied for fourth in assist average, and ranked 10th in scoring for the week in the PacWest...hit 4 of 9 (44.4%) three-point attempts...averaged 2.0 three-pointers made per game for the week (tied for 5th in the PacWest).
Richelle Fenebock - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 5-6, G, Coeur d'Alene, ID/Lake City)...scored 17 points while shooting 50.0% (5 for 10) from the field in 90-68 win over Chaminade on Feb. 12 - Seasiders' lone contest...hit 4 of 4 free throw attempts and posted three steals...made 3 of 6 three-point attempts (50.0%)...handed out five steals.
Alisha Flaaten - Dominican (CA) (Sr., 5-6, G, Hayward, CA/Moreau
Catholic)...averaged 18.3 points and 4.3 assists in a
1-2 week in Hawai‘i...ranked fourth in scoring and ninth in
assist average for the week in the conference...was perfect from
the foul line (10 for 10)...hit 11 three-pointers en route to a 3.7
per game average - tops in the conference for the week...also
averaged 2.0 steals per game.
Mahina Gago - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., G, 5-9, Las Vegas, NV/Bonanza)...scored 23 points and snared seven rebounds in 90-68 win over Chaminade on Feb. 12 - Seasiders' lone contest...tied for PacWest lead in scoring and tied for eighth in rebounding for the week...shot 50.0% form the floor (9 for 18)...contributed four steals and shot 50.0% (3 for 6) from beyond the arc...tied for the PacWest lead in three-pointers made per game for the week.
Jessica Nolan - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-11, F, Adelaide, Australia/Hallet Cove)...posted a double-double in 64-61 loss vs. NDNU on Feb. 13...scored 18 points, collected 10 rebounds and handed out three assists in the setback.
Verity Peets - Academy of Art (Jr., 6-0, F, Stockport,
England/Stockport)...scored 19 points and collected
five rebounds in 64-61 loss to NDNU on Feb. 13...shot 64.3% (9 for
14) from the field...ranked eighth for the week in scoring...ranked
third in scoring for the week.
Katie Zasly - Notre Dame de Namur (Jr., 5-9, G, Foster City, CA/Aragon)...scored 16 points, passed out four assists and shot 50.0% (6 for 12) from the field in 64-61 win at Academy of Art on Feb. 13...also had four steals.
Laura Zasly - Notre Dame de Namur (Jr., 5-9, G, Foster City, CA/Aragon)...tallied 16 points, grabbed seven rebounds, handed out four assists and recorded three steals in 64-61 win at Academy of Art on Feb. 13.
