HPU's Genesis Lewis earns PacWest Player of the Week honors

PHOENIX, AZ - Hawai‘i Pacific senior forward Genesis Lewis (Paramount, CA/Paramount) has been named the Pacific West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Feb. 1, for games contested Jan. 25-31.

Lewis guided the Sea Warriors to a 2-0 week by averaging 12.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game.

She ranked first in rebounding and second in shooting for the week, making 73.3% of her attempts from the floor (11 for 15).

The Sea Warriors are now 8-0 in the PacWest, 12-4 overall and have won eight straight contests.

Johnna Brown - Dixie State (Fr., 6-0, F, Las Vegas, NV/Centennial)...averaged 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Red Storm...tied for third in scoring average for the week in the conference...ranked ninth in shooting for the week (52.2%) after making 12 of 23 attempts from the floor...also averaged 2.0 steals per game.

Deanna Daniels - Dixie State (Fr., 5-11, F, North Las Vegas, NV/Centennial)...averaged 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Red Storm...tied for fifth in scoring and tied for eighth in rebounding for the week in the conference...averaged 2.0 steals per game.

Richelle Fenebock - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 5-6, G, Coeur d'Alene, ID/Lake City)...poured in 24 points and snared nine rebounds vs. Chaminade on Jan. 29 in a 54-51 victory...marked the lone game of the week for the Seasiders...led the league in scoring average and tied for fourth in rebounding average for the week...was 3 for 3 from the line...posted three steals...hit a trio of three-pointers.

Katrina Graham - Grand Canyon (Jr., 5-9, G/F, Mesa, AZ/Desert Mountain)...tallied 17 points and collected six rebounds in 78-67 win over Dixie State on Jan. 30 - the Antelopes lone game of the week...shot 70.0% from the floor (7 for 10).

Mana Hopkins - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 5-10, F, Kona, HI/Konawaena)...shot 70.6% (12 for 17) from the floor over two games for the Sea Warriors...led HPU to a 2-0 week...averaged 15.0 points per game during that stretch...tied for eighth in scoring and ranked fifth in shooting for the week in the PacWest...led the league in foul shooting for the week (6 for 6).

Kim Horn - Notre Dame de Namur (Sr., 5-8, G, San Francisco, CA/George Washington)...helped Argos to 1-1 week by averaging 18.0 points per game and shooting 72.2% (13 for 18) from the floor...ranked fourth in shooting and tied for third in scoring in the PacWest for the week...blistering from beyond the arc (75.0%) after making 9 of 12 shots...led PacWest in three's made per game (4.5) and tied for fifth in three-point shooting for week.

Samantha Murphy - Grand Canyon (Jr., 5-8, G, Phoenix, AZ/Xavier Prep)...scored 14 points and doled out four assists in 78-67 win over Dixie State on Jan. 30 - the Antelopes lone game of the week...shot 50.0% from the floor (5 for 10).

Samantha Saito - Chaminade (Sr., 5-4, G, Aiea, HI/Sacred Hearts)...scored 15 points in 54-51 loss vs. BYU-Hawaii on Jan. 29 - the Silverswords lone game of the week...tied for eighth in the league in scoring for the week...tied for first in assists per game for the week (5.0)...handed out five vs. the Seasiders...also shot 50.0% (5 for 10) from the field - tied for 10th in the PacWest for the week.

Katie Zasly - Notre Dame de Namur (Jr., 5-9, G, Foster City, CA/Aragon)...averaged 17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in 1-1 week...ranked third in rebounding and tied for fifth in scoring during the week in the conference...tied for eighth in assist average (3.5) and ranked second in steals per game (3.5) for the week...hit 2 of 5 (40.0%) three-point attempts.

Laura Zasly - Notre Dame de Namur (Jr., 5-9, G, Foster City, CA/Aragon)...averaged 19.5 points and 10.0 rebounds during 1-1 week...ranked second in rebounding and scoring for the week in the PacWest...tied for third in assist average for the week (4.0)...hit 3 of 4 three-point attempts (75.0%).
