Grand Canyon's Samantha Murphy chosen PacWest Women’s Basketball Player of the Year

PHOENIX, AZ – The head coaches of the Pacific West Conference have selected Grand Canyon senior guard Samantha Murphy (Phoenix, AZ/Xavier Prep) as the 2010-11 PacWest Women’s Basketball Player of the Year.

Grand Canyon Head Coach Trent May was named the PacWest Coach of the Year, while Dixie State senior forward Breann Hill (Harrisburg, PA/McDevitt) earned PacWest Newcomer of the Year honors.

Hawai‘i Pacific rookie guard Skye Savini (Los Angeles, CA/St. Paul) claimed Newcomer of the Year accolades.

The PacWest announced the four major awards from its office in Phoenix, AZ, on Thursday, March 10, along with the 2010-11 All-PacWest Team.
