GCU's Samantha Murphy earns another PacWest Women’s Basketball Player of Week award

PHOENIX, AZ - Grand Canyon senior guard Samantha Murphy (Phoenix, AZ/Xavier Prep) has been selected the Pacific West Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Nov. 29, for games contested Nov. 22-28.

Murphy led the PacWest in scoring for the week, averaging 23.5 points per game while leading the Antelopes to a 2-0 record.

She also ranked sixth in rebounding after averaging 8.0 boards per game, and tied for 10th in assists per game with a 3.0 per-contest mark.

Murphy was outstanding from the foul line, making 16 of 19 (84.2%) attempts to stand eighth in free throw shooting for the week, while she recorded 4.0 steals per game to rank third in the league for the week.

She also hit 5 of 14 three-point attempts (35.7%) to rank seventh and was third in three-pointers made per game (2.5).

Paris Gravely - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 5-5, G, Fairfield, CA/Fairfield)...scored 15 points and passed out four assists in 76-60 win vs. St. Thomas Aquinas (NY) on Nov. 26...shot 63.6% (7 for 11) from the field.

Mana Hopkins-Vandenakker - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 5-10, F, Kona, HI/Konawaena)...scored 23 points, collected five rebounds and recorded four steals in 76-60 win vs. St. Thomas Aquinas (NY) on Nov. 26...also had two steals...lone game of the week for the Sea Warriors.

Breann Hill - Dixie State (Sr., 5-10, F, Harrisburg, PA/McDevitt)...averaged 19.0 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 66.7% (14 for 21) from the floor...led Dixie State to a 2-0 week...tied for second in the PacWest in shooting for the week...tied for 11th in rebounding and ranked third in scoring...tied for 10th in assists per game (3.0) and ranked ninth in free throw shooting (83.3%) after making 10 of 12 attempts...ranked fourth for the week in assist/turnover ratio (2.0).

Devin London - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-6, G, Oak Park, IL/Marian Catholic)...averaged 15.5 points while shooting 52.4% (11 for 21) from the floor...ranked seventh in scoring and 10th in shooting for the week in the PacWest...also averaged 3.0 assists (tied for 10th) and 4.0 steals (tied for third).

Jallisa Butler - Grand Canyon (Jr., 6-1, C/F, Las Vegas, NV/Cimarron)...helped Antelopes to a 2-0 week by averaging 13.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game...ranked 10th in scoring and fourth in rebounding for the week in the PacWest...led the conference in field goal shooting (76.9%) after making 10 of 13 attempts from the floor.

Jessica Nolan - Academy of Art (Sr., 5-11, F, Adelaide, Australia/Hallet Cove School)...helped Urban Knights to a 1-1 week by averaging 16.0 points and 14.0 rebounds per game while shooting 54.2% (13 for 24) from the field...ranked sixth in scoring, second in rebounding and eighth in shooting for the week in the conference...posted a 1.6 assist/turnover ratio for the week to stand sixth.

Richelle Rieben - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., 5-5, G, Coeur d’Alene, ID/Lake City)...averaged 18.7 points and 5.7 steals per game for the week...ranked second in thefts and fourth in scoring as Seasiders recorded a 1-2 week...hit 11 of 14 free throw attempts (78.6%)...made 9 of 25 (36.0%) three-point attempts...ranked sixth in three-point shooting and second in three-pointers made per game (3.0) for the week in the conference.

Dara Tompkison - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 5-4, G, Honolulu, HI/Punahou)...averaged 6.0 assists and 9.3 points per game over a 1-2 week for the Seasiders...made 6 of 8 (75.0%) free throw attempts...made 4 of 8 three-point trys...shot 50.0% from beyond the arc to stand first in three-point shooting for the week...led the PacWest in assist average for the week...also averaged 1.3 three-pointers made per game to tie for sixth in the league for the week...tied for second in assist/turnover ratio (2.3) for the week.
