HPU's Mana Hopkins-Vandenakker claims PacWest Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

PHOENIX, AZ - Hawai‘i Pacific junior forward Mana Hopkins-Vandenakker (Kona, HI/Konawaena) has been named the Pacific West Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Dec. 20, for games contested Dec. 13-19.

Hopkins-Vandenakker led the Sea Warriors to a 2-0 week by averaging 21.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 assists per game.

She led the PacWest in scoring for the week, while ranking sixth in rebounding and ninth in shooting (48.5% - 16 for 33).

Hopkins-Vandenakker also tied for 10th in assist average and in foul shooting (87.5% - 7 for 8), and she tied for sixth in steals per game for the week. She made 3 of 7 three-point attempts (42.9%).
