NDNU journeys to Dominican on Saturday for PacWest Women’s Basketball Game of the Week

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – A local rivalry heats up this Saturday, Jan. 28, when Notre Dame de Namur travels to Dominican (CA) in the PacWest Game of the Week.

Each week during the women’s basketball season, the PacWest will spotlight a game that will be broadcast live over the Internet. The Argos and Penguins will tip off at 5:30 p.m. PST.

NDNU enters the contest 4-12 overall and 2-6 in the PacWest, while the Penguins are 2-15 overall and 1-6 in the league.

Sophomore guard Kayla Valentine (Chino, CA/Don Lugo) leads the Dominican offense this season. She is averaging 10.4 points per game and has been a regular member of the PacWest Women’s Basketball Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll.

NDNU freshman Taylor Dewees (Reno, NV/McQueens) tops the Argos in scoring. The rookie guard is averaging 14.8 points per game this season.

Junior center Trisha Malaspina (Burlingame, CA/Burlingame) is averaging 12.0 points per contest, while senior center Emily Vore (San Bernardino, CA/Redlands) is posting 11.8 points per game.
