First place on the line when Dixie State visits CBU in Women’s Basketball Game of the Week
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Dixie State will travel to
Riverside, Calif., on Saturday, Feb. 18 to
complete the back end of a crucial home-and-home series with
California Baptist in the latest PacWest
Game of the Week.
The game also can be heard live on the Dixie State network.
Each week during the women’s basketball season, the PacWest will spotlight a game that will be broadcast live over the Internet. The battle for first place in the conference will tip off at 5:30 p.m. (PST).
California Baptist is coming off a 76-68 victory in St. George, Utah, on Feb. 14 that helped create a four-team tie in the loss column atop the PacWest standings.
CBU is 10-3 in the league with a 17-4 overall mark, while Dixie State is 11-3 in the PacWest and 16-6 overall. Grand Canyon is 10-3 in the PacWest, while Academy of Art is 11-3.
In the CBU win earlier this week, the Lancers were led by junior guard Simone Holmes (Phoenix, AZ/South Mountain) who scored 25 points, including going 11 for 13 at the line.
Junior guard Myriah Hicks (Springfield,
MO/Central) contributed 13 points, while senior
forward/center Nicole Anderson (San Jose, CA/Archbishop
Mitty) and junior guard/forward Brittney
Lewis (Rancho Cucamonga, CA/Etiwanda) each
contributed 10 points.
Senior center Alexis Johnson (Murrieta, CA/Calvary Chapel Murrieta) had 10 rebounds and nine points.
Dixie State junior center Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood) – who returns to her hometown on Saturday night - posted a double-double in the setback on Feb. 14. She scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Senior guard Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) totaled 17 points, while senior guard Gabriella Rodriguez (West Jordan, UT/West Jordan) tallied 11.
