Art U sophomore forward Alisa Griggs selected PacWest Women’s Basketball Player of Week

PHOENIX, AZ - Academy of Art sophomore forward
Alisa Griggs (Milwaukie, OR/Oregon City)
has been selected the Pacific West Conference Women’s
Basketball Player of the Week.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Jan. 16, for games contested Jan. 9-15.
Griggs led the Urban Knights to a 3-0 week in Hawai‘i by averaging 12.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
She shot 53.8% (14 for 26) from the field, averaged 2.0 steals per game, and helped Art U improve its conference record to 4-2, and its overall mark to 8-6.

Sheila Adams - Dixie State (Sr., 5-6, G, Layton,
UT/Layton)...scored 18 points and grabbed eight
rebounds in 74-54 win over Dominican (CA) on Jan. 13 - the lone
game of the week for the Red Storm...shot 53.8% (7 for 13) from the
field...made 4 of 7 (57.1%) attempts from beyond the arc.
Jallisa Butler - Grand Canyon (Sr., 6-1, F, Las Vegas, NV/Cimarron)...led Antelopes to a 71-29 win over Dominican (CA) on Jan. 11...scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the victory...shot 60.0% (6 for 10) from the field...also had three steals.
Myriah Hicks - California Baptist (Jr., 5-4, G, Springfield, MO/Central)...scored 18 points in leading Lancers to 92-65 victory over NDNU on Jan. 14...lone game of the week for the Lancers.
Simone Holmes - California Baptist (Jr., 5-8, G, Phoenix, AZ/South Mountain)...scored 18 points in leading Lancers to 92-65 victory over NDNU on Jan. 14...lone game of the week for CBU...shot 63.6% (7 for 11) from the floor...went 2 for 2 from the line...hit 2 of 4 (50.0%) three-point attempts.
Danna Lynn Hooper - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-4, G, Hoolehua,
HI/Molokai)...averaged 19.5 points, 3.0 assists and
2.5 steals per game despite a 0-2 week for the Seasiders...hit four
three-pointers in the two games.
Mana Hopkins - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 5-10, F, Kona, HI/Konawaena)...scored 17 points in 81-52 victory over BYU-Hawaii on Jan. 10 - lone game of the week for Sea Warriors...shot 50.0% (7 for 14) from the floor and from three-point land (2 for 4).
Hillary Hurley - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 6-2, F, Anderson, CA/Enterprise)...led Vulcans to 1-1 week by averaging 12.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game...shot 69.2% (9 for 13) from the field...also shot 75.0% (6 for 8) from the line.
Taiyande Huskey - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 5-4, G, Fullerton,
CA/Tustin)...scored 13 points, handed out eight
assists, recorded seven steals and shot 80.0% (4 for 5) from the
field in 81-52 victory over BYU-Hawaii on Jan. 10 - lone game of
the week...made 2 of 3 three-point attempts (66.7%).
Pilar Mullins - Notre Dame de Namur (Sr., 6-1, F, Millbrae, CA/Mills)...scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in lone game of the week - a 92-65 loss vs. California Baptist on Jan. 14...also had three assists.
Shanae Vaifanua - Dixie State (Sr., 5-8, G, Hurricane, UT/Hurricane)...scored 10 points and collected 14 rebounds in lone game of the week - a 74-54 win over Dominican (CA) on Jan. 13.
