Dixie State center Becca Thomas selected latest PacWest Women’s Basketball Player of Week
PHOENIX, AZ - Dixie State junior center Becca
Thomas (Riverside, CA/Santa Clara) has been selected
the latest Pacific West Conference Women’s Basketball Player
of the Week.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Feb. 6, for games contested Jan. 30-Feb. 5.
Thomas led the Red Storm to a 3-0 week in Hawai‘i by averaging 19.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
She tied for second in scoring and ranked 11th in rebounding in the conference for the week.
Thomas’ shooting percentage also sparkled, ranking third in the PacWest for the week after making 59.5% (22 for 37) of her field goal attempts.
She tied for 11th in free throw shooting as well, making 75.0% (15 for 20) of her shots from the line.

Nicol Biesek - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-9, G, South Pasadena,
CA/South Pasadena)...led Art U to a 2-0 week with
wins vs. NDNU and Dominican (CA)...averaged 10.5 points, 9.0
rebounds, 1.5 three-pointers made and 3.5 assists per game...ranked
fifth in rebounding average for the week in the PacWest.
Jallisa Butler - Grand Canyon (Sr., 6-1, F, Las Vegas, NV/Cimarron)...led the Antelopes to a 3-0 week in Hawai‘i...averaged 11.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game...ranked sixth in rebounding and first in shooting (71.4%) in the PacWest for the week...made 15 of 21 field goal attempts.
Ariel Dale - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-8, F, Los Angeles, CA/Pacific Hills)...led Urban Knights to a 2-0 week with wins vs. NDNU and Dominican (CA)...averaged 15.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 6.5 assists per game...ranked eighth in scoring and tied for ninth in rebounding average for the week in the PacWest...ranked third in assist average and tied for second in thefts.
Alisa Griggs - Academy of Art (So., 6-0, F, Milwaukie, OR/Oregon
City)...guided Urban Knights to a 2-0 week with
victories vs. NDNU and Dominican (CA)...averaged 15.5 points, 14.5
rebounds and 2.0 steals per game...led the PacWest in rebounding
for the week...ranked seventh in scoring...was 7 for 7 at the
line...ranked fifth in rebounding average for the week in the
PacWest.
Myriah Hicks - California Baptist (Jr., 5-4, G, Springfield, MO/Central)...averaged 14.0 points, 2.7 steals and 2.7 assists per game in 3-0 week for CBU...shot 94.7% (18 of 19) from the line...ranked fourth in the PacWest in foul shooting for the week...averaged 1.3 three-pointers made per game.
Simone Holmes - California Baptist (Jr., 5-8, G, Phoenix, AZ/South Mountain)...averaged 16.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 2.3 steals per game in 3-0 week...was fourth in scoring and tied for eighth in assists during the week in the PacWest...shot 46.3% (19 for 41) on the floor.
Kirsty Imai - Hawai‘i Hilo (Jr., 5-4, G, Hilo, HI/Waiakea)...averaged 16.0 points and 3.5 three-pointers made per game despite a 0-2 week for the Vulcans...shot 46.7% (7 for 15) from beyond the three-point arc...ranked eighth in three-point shooting and tied for first in three’s made per contest during the week in the PacWest...tied for fifth in scoring for the week.
Jennifer Jasper - Notre Dame de Namur (Jr., 6-1, C, San Jose,
CA/Prospect)...averaged 16.0 points and 8.0 rebounds
per game in a 1-1 week for the Argos...tied for seventh in
rebounding and tied for fifth in scoring in the PacWest for the
week...ranked second in shooting for the week (60.9%)...connected
on 14 of 23 field goal attempts.
Maylinn Smith - Grand Canyon (So., 5-9, G/F, Mesa, AZ/Mesquite)...led the Antelopes to a 3-0 road trip in Hawai‘i...tied for second in scoring average for the week (19.7 ppg.).
Shayla Washington - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 5-9, F, Phoenix, AZ/Trevor Browne)...led the PacWest in scoring despite Seasiders’ 0-2 week...averaged 20.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game...tied for ninth in rebounding in the PacWest for the week...also led the PacWest in steals per game (3.5).
