HPU sophomore guard Skye Savini selected PacWest Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
PHOENIX, AZ - Hawai‘i Pacific sophomore guard
Skye Savini (Los Angeles, CA/St. Paul)
has been selected the Pacific West Conference Women’s
Basketball Player of the Week.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Nov. 21, for games contested Nov. 14-20.
Savini led the Sea Warriors to a 1-1 week by averaging 19.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
She ranked second in scoring and tied for fourth in rebounding for the week in the PacWest. Savini also shot 46.7% (14 for 30) from the floor.

Jallisa Butler - Grand Canyon (Sr., 6-1, F, Las Vegas,
NV/Cimarron)...led the Antelopes to a 2-0 mark over
the weekend by averaging 8.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals
per contest...tied for fourth in rebounding for the week in the
PacWest...shot 53.3% (8 for 15) from the floor - good enough to
rank sixth in the league for the week.
Taylor Dewees - Notre Dame de Namur (Fr., 5-6, G, Reno, NV/McQueens)...helped lead the Argos to a 1-1 week by averaging 17.5 points per game...tied for fourth in scoring for the week in the PacWest...ranked 10th in shooting after making 12 of 25 shots (48.0%) from the floor...was perfect from the foul line (8 for 8)...hit a trio of three-pointers...tied for third in steals per game for the week (3.0)...had six thefts in two contests.
Erica Hayes - Dixie State (Jr., 5-7, G, East Palo Alto, CA/Menlo-Atherton)...led the Red Storm to a 2-0 weekend in Phoenix by averaging 18.0 points and shooting 50.0% (14 for 28) from the field...tied for seventh in shooting and ranked third in scoring for the week in the PacWest...also averaged 2.0 steals and 2.0 assists per game during the week...led PacWest in three-pointers made per game (2.5) for the week...also ranked seventh in three-point shooting (45.5%) after connecting on 5 of 11 attempts.
Myriah Hicks - California Baptist (Jr., 5-4, G, Springfield, MO/Central)...helped lead the Lancers to a 1-1 week by averaging 14.0 points and 5.0 assists per game...led the PacWest in assist average for the week...tied for sixth in scoring...also tied for sixth in steals per game (2.5)...shot 90.0% (18 for 20) from the line...ranked 10th in the league in foul shooting for the week...ranked fifth in assist/turnover ratio (1.0).
Simone Holmes - California Baptist (Jr., 5-8, G, Phoenix, AZ/South Mountain)...helped lead CBU to 1-1 week by averaging 17.5 points, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game...tied for fourth in scoring and eighth in steal average for the week in the PacWest...shot 53.6% (15 for 28) from the floor to rank fifth for the week.
Mana Hopkins - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 5-10, F, Kona,
HI/Konawaena)...helped HPU to a 1-1 week by averaging
11.5 points and 10.5 rebounds for the week...tied for first in
rebounding and ranked 11th in scoring in the PacWest for the
week...averaged 2.5 assists per game and was 6 for 6 from the
line.
Alexis Johnson - California Baptist (Sr., 6-1, C, Murrieta, CA/Calvary Chapel Murrieta)...helped lead the Lancers to a 1-1 week by averaging 14.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game...tied for sixth in the PacWest in scoring and ranked third in rebounding for the week...shot 63.2% (12 for 19) from the floor to rank second for the week.
Pilar Mullins - Notre Dame de Namur (Sr., 6-1, F, Millbrae, CA/Mills)...led the Argos to a 1-1 week by averaging 10.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game...tied for first in rebounding and 12th in scoring in the PacWest for the week.
Maylinn Smith - Grand Canyon (So., 5-9, G/F, Mesa, AZ/Mesquite)...led the Antelopes to a 2-0 mark over the weekend by averaging 20.0 points per contest...topped the PacWest in scoring for the week...outstanding from the foul line after converting 16 of 17 (94.1%) free throw attempts...averaged 2.5 steals per game - tied for sixth on the week in the league.
Becca Thomas - Dixie State (Jr., 6-2, C, Riverside, CA/Santa Clara)...led the Red Storm to a 2-0 weekend in Phoenix by averaging 10.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest...tied for ninth in rebounding for the week.
