California Baptist clinches PacWest regular-season title; HPU claims top seed
PHOENIX, Ariz. – California Baptist (21-5/15-3 PacWest) and Hawai'i Pacific (18-6/14-4) used victories on the final day of the Pacific West Conference's women's basketball regular season to capture a championship and a claim a top seed in the league's post-season tournament.
CBU used a 45-27 first-half advantage and 20 points from Myriah Hicks to earn an 81-54 victory at Fresno Pacific on Saturday, March 2, and grab a share of the 2013 PacWest Women's Basketball Regular-Season Championship.
A few hours later, the Lancers learned the title belonged to them outright when Azusa Pacific (15-10/12-5) bounced Grand Canyon (22-7/14-4) 63-57 on the very court that will host the inaugural PacWest Women's Basketball Championship Tournament beginning March 7.
