California Baptist’s Jasmine Beverly named first PacWest Women’s Basketball Player of Week

Jasmine Beverly PHOENIX, Ariz. – California Baptist senior forward Jasmine Beverly (Houston, TX/Clear Lake) has been selected the first Pacific West Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for 2012-13.

The conference announced the honor on Sunday, Nov. 18, for games played Nov. 9-11.

Beverly led the Lancers to a 2-0 week by averaging 15.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. She ranked third in scoring, and tied for second in rebounding and in thefts for the week in the PacWest.

Beverly also ranked third in the league in field goal percentage after making 52.0% (13 for 52) of her attempts from the floor.

Sarah Nelson Ieva Nagy (Jr., 5-10, F, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia) – Hawai‘i Pacific – led the Sea Warriors to a 2-1 start to the season by averaging 14.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game…ranked fourth in scoring and tied for 13th in rebounding for the week in the PacWest…ranked second in three-point shooting for the week after making 10 of 19 (52.6%) shots from beyond the arc…topped the league in three-pointers made per game (3.3)…ranked ninth in field goal percentage (44.4%) for the week in the PacWest…made 16 of 36 attempts from the floor.
