HPU senior Susannah Walmsley named PacWest Women’s Basketball Player of Week
PHOENIX, Ariz. - Hawai'i Pacific senior guard Susannah Walmsley (New Castle, New South Wales, Australia) has been selected the Pacific West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
The conference announced the honor on Monday, Dec. 3, for games played Nov. 26-Dec. 2.
Walmsley led the Sea Warriors to a 97-68 win at BYU-Hawaii on Dec. 1 in the PacWest opener for both clubs by scoring 34 points, grabbing six rebounds and handing out six assists. It was the lone game of the week for HPU.
Walmsley ranked fourth in the PacWest in shooting for the week after making 14 of 22 field goal attempts (63.6%). She connected on 6 of 11 three-point attempts (54.5%) to rank ninth in the conference for the week and also contributed a trio of steals.

Sonia Aguilar (Jr., 5-8, G, Pinole, CA) – Holy Names – averaged 20.0 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Hawks…tied for eighth in scoring in the PacWest for the week…connected on six three-pointers and averaged 3.0 three-pointers made per game…tied for fifth in the league for the week in making long-range shots.
Nyla Bailey (Sr., 6-3, F, Escondido, CA/Escondido) – Point Loma – averaged 14.0 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Sea Lions…led PLNU to its first PacWest women's basketball conference victory in school history – a 61-42 triumph over Azusa Pacific on Dec. 1 (left photo).
Jasmine Beverly (Sr., 5-11, F, Houston, TX/Clear Lake) – California Baptist – led Lancers to an 87-63 win over Fresno Pacific on Dec. 1 in the PacWest opener for both clubs…lone game of the week for CBU…scored 23 points and inhaled 18 rebounds in the win…shot 60.0% (9 for 15) from the field – tied for fifth in the league for the week.
Johnna Brown (Jr., 6-1, F, Las Vegas, NV/Centennial) – Dixie State – posted a double-double in 85-75 win over Hawai'i Hilo on Dec. 1 in the PacWest opener…scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the victory (right photo).
Ariel Dale (Sr., 5-8, F, Los Angeles, CA/Pacific Hills) – Academy of Art – led the Urban Knights a 95-56 win over NDNU on Dec. 1 in the conference opener for both clubs…scored 18 points, collected seven rebounds and shot 50.0% (8 for 16) from the floor…also posted four steals.
Renique Fitzpatrick (Fr., 6-0, G, Fairfield, CA/Armijo) – Holy Names – averaged a double-double by recording 13.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Hawks...tied for sixth in rebounding in the PacWest for the week…shot 47.6% (10 for 21) from the floor.
Danna Lynn Hooper (Jr., 5-4, G, Hoolehua, HI/Molokai) – BYU-Hawaii – scored 18 points in a 97-68 loss to Hawai'i Pacific on Dec. 1 – the lone game of the week for the Seasiders…went 4 for 4 from the line…connected on a pair of three-pointers.
Kamie Imai (Jr., 5-9, G, Hilo, HI/Waiakea) – Hawai'i Hilo – scored 22 points, doled out six assists, posted two steals and shot 56.3% (9 for 16) from the field in an 85-75 loss at Dixie State on Dec. 1 – lone game of the week for the Vulcans…contest was the PacWest opener for both clubs.
Melody Larido (Sr., 5-3, G, Vallejo, CA/Vallejo Senior) – Hawai'i Pacific – scored 17 points while shooting 58.3% (7 for 12) from the field in a 97-68 road victory at BYU-Hawaii on Dec. 1 in the PacWest opener for both clubs…lone game of the week for HPU…tied for seventh in the PacWest in field goal percentage…went 2 for 2 at the line.
Brittney Lewis (Sr., 5-9, G/F, Rancho Cucamonga, CA/Etiwanda) – California Baptist – scored 21 points while shooting 50.0% (8 for 16) from the field in an 87-63 win over Fresno Pacific on Dec. 1 in the PacWest opener for both clubs…lone game of the week for CBU…had a pair of steals and hit 3 of 5 (60.0%) shots from beyond the arc…tied for 16th in shooting and ranked eighth in three-point percentage for the week in the PacWest (left photo).
Ieva Nagy (Jr., 5-10, F, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia) – Hawai'i Pacific – punched up 21 points and grabbed a dozen rebounds while shooting 87.5% (7 for 8) from the field in a 97-68 road victory at BYU-Hawaii on Dec. 1…it was the PacWest opener for both clubs and lone game of the week for HPU…led the PacWest in field goal percentage…went 2 for 2 at the line…connected on 5 of 6 three-point attempts (83.3%) – tying for second in the league for the week.
Britney Potestio (Sr., 5-8, G, San Lorenzo, CA/Arroyo) – Holy Names – averaged 18.0 points and 4.0 assists per game in a 2-0 week for the Hawks...tied for 10th in scoring and tied for ninth in doling out helpers in the PacWest for the week…posted a 2.7 assist/turnover ratio for the week – seventh-best in the PacWest for the week…hit 8 of 10 (80.0%) free throw attempts…averaged 2.0 three-pointers made per game – tied for ninth in the league for the week in the PacWest.
Jordan Rogers (Sr., 5-10, G, Sparks, NV/Spanish Springs) – Academy of Art – recorded 20 points, grabbed six rebounds, and handed out four assists in a 95-56 win over NDNU on Dec. 1 in the conference opener for both clubs…shot 58.3% (7 for 12) from the floor - tying for seventh-best in the PacWest for the week…hit 3 of 4 (75.0%) free throw attempts…made 3 of 6 (50.0%) attempts from beyond the arc.
Shayla Washington (Sr., 5-9, F, Phoenix, AZ/Trevor Browne) – BYU-Hawaii – scored 26 points, snared eight rebounds and recorded four steals in a 97-68 loss to Hawai'i Pacific on Dec. 1 – the lone game of the week for the Seasiders…went 7 for 9 from the line (77.8%)…connected on 5 of 6 (83.3%) three-point attempts…tied for second in three-point shooting for the week in the PacWest.
Keairra White (So., 5-6, G, Bakersfield, CA/Bakersfield) – Fresno Pacific – unleashed 32 points in a tough 87-63 loss at California Baptist on Dec. 1 – the first PacWest conference game in Sunbird history…registered 16 of the 32 points from the line…went 16 for 18 (88.9%) from the charity stripe.
