Holy Names junior Dominique Williams chosen PacWest Women’s Basketball Player of Week
PHOENIX, Ariz. – Holy Names junior guard Dominique Williams (Berkeley, CA/Laney College) has been selected the Pacific West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
The conference announced the honor on Monday, Jan. 7, for games contested Dec. 31 - Jan. 6.
Williams led the Hawks to a 3-1 week in Hawai'i featuring a victory at BYU-Hawaii and a pair of non-conference wins at Chaminade.
She averaged a double-double for the week, scoring 14.8 points per game while pulling down 11.8 rebounds per contest. She ranked 11th in scoring and fourth in rebounding for the week in the PacWest.
Williams made the most of her opportunities from the floor, shooting 56.8% from the field after making 25 of 44 field goal attempts. She ranked 10th in the PacWest in shooting for the week.
When she wasn't grabbing rebounds or putting the ball in the net, Williams was helping teammates to the tune of 4.3 assists per game.
She ranked eighth in helpers for the week in the PacWest and ranked second in assist/turnover ratio (4.3) after giving out 17 assists while committing just four turnovers in four games.

Renique Fitzpatrick (Fr., 6-0, G, Fairfield, CA/Armijo) – Holy Names – helped the Hawks post a 3-1 week in Hawai'i by averaging 13.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game…ranked 16th in scoring and eighth in rebounding in the PacWest for the week…shot 50.0% (22 for 44) from the floor.
Yesenia Garzon (Sr., 6-0, G, San Lorenzo, CA/Arroyo) – Holy Names – led Hawks to a 3-1 week in Hawai'i by averaging 12.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50.0% (23 for 46) from the field…ranked 19th in scoring, tied for 18th in shooting and tied for ninth in rebounding in the PacWest for the week.
Simone Holmes (Sr., 5-8, G, Phoenix, AZ/South Mountain) – California Baptist – averaged 20.5 points per game while shooting 60.9% (14 for 23) from the field for the week…ranked sixth in shooting and fourth in scoring in the PacWest for the week…led Lancers to a 1-1 week…shot 75.0% (9 for 12) from the line…tied for fourth for the week in the league in steals per game (4.0)…shot 50.0% (4 for 8) from three-point land…tied for 11th in three-point shooting for the week.
Kirsty Imai (Sr., 5-4, G, Hilo, HI/Waiakea) – Hawai'i Hilo – averaged 15.5 points and 4.0 assists per game in a 1-1 week for the Vulcans…ranked eighth in scoring and tied for ninth in helpers in the PacWest for the week…shot 47.8% (11 for 23) from the field…was perfect at the foul line (6 for 6)…posted a 2.0 assist/turnover ratio tying for sixth in the league for the week.
Judy Jones (Jr., 5-9, G/F, Monroe, LA/Wossman) – Grand Canyon – averaged a double-double during a 1-1 week for the Antelopes…posted 16.0 rebounds and 15.0 points per game…tied for ninth in scoring and ranked first in rebounding for the week in the PacWest…ranked ninth in shooting for the week after making 12 of 21 (57.1%) attempts from the field…averaged 4.5 steals per game, tying for second in the league for the week (right photo).
Hannah Kenny (Jr., 5-11, F, San Luis Obispo, CA/San Luis Obispo) – Azusa Pacific – posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 50.0% (4 for 8) from the floor in lone game of the week – a 59-42 win over Fresno Pacific on Jan. 5…recorded four steals in the victory.
Rhani Kaneaiakala (Sr., 5-9, F, Waimanalo, HI/Kamehameha-Kapalama) - Chaminade – averaged 12.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game in a 1-2 week for the Silverswords…all three contests were against Holy Names…CUH's one win was a conference victory…ranked 20th in scoring and sixth in rebounding for the week in the PacWest.
Trisha Malaspina (Jr., 6-0, C, Burlingame, CA/Burlingame) – Notre Dame de Namur – averaged 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game despite a 0-2 week for the Argos…ranked sixth in scoring and seventh in rebounding for the week in the PacWest…shot 50.0% (11 for 22) from the field.

Brydgette Tatupu-Leopoldo (So., 5-8, G, Honolulu, HI/Farrington) – BYU-Hawaii – averaged 24.0 points and 3.5 assists per game in a 1-1 week for the Seasiders…ranked third in scoring for the week in the PacWest…shot 88.2% (15 for 17) from the line - 10th in the league for the week.
