PHOENIX, AZ - Dominican (CA) junior goalkeeper Alicia Paulsen (Santa Rosa, CA/Ursuline) has been chosen the Pacific West Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Sept. 14, for games played Sept. 7-13.

Paulsen led the Penguins to a 1-1-1 week by playing all 290 minutes in net. She halted 12 of 14 shots on goal for an .857 save percentage and tossed a pair of shutouts - a 2-0 blanking of NDNU on Sept. 13 and a 0-0 twin-overtime tie vs. Cal State East Bay on Sept. 8. She also posted a 0.62 goals against average over the three games.

PacWest Women's Soccer Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll

Solveig Barnes (right) - Academy of Art (So., 5-9, F/GK, Tracy, CA/West)...despite an 0-2 week still managed to land on the honor roll with her 13 saves over 180 minutes of action...dropped a 2-0 decision at Biola and a tough 1-0 contest at Menlo...produced an .812 save percentage.

Shanna Brown - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 5-9, GK, Fairbanks, AK/Lathrop)...recorded a tie in her lone decision of the week...was outstanding in net on Sept. 13 by making seven saves in a 0-0 double-overtime draw vs. Hawai‘i Pacific.

Vanessa Butin (left) - Hawai‘i Hilo (Jr., 5-4, M, Waipahu, HI/Moanalua)...had an outstanding defensive game in the middle of the field on Sept. 13...helped lead the Vulcans to a 0-0 twin-overtime tie vs. Hawai‘i Pacific.

Bridget Folan - Dominican (CA) (Jr., 5-5, F, Pacifica, CA/Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep)...punched in the game-winning goal for the Penguins in the first half of a 2-0 victory vs. NDNU on Sept. 13.

Carianne Makino - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 5-5, GK, Honolulu, HI/Kaiser)...recorded three saves in 120 minutes of action on Sept. 13 in a 0-0 double-overtime draw vs. Hawai‘i Hilo.

Chelsie Sato - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 5-6, D, Kaneohe, HI/McKinley)...outstanding defensive play at the sweeper position helped the Sea Warriors forge a 0-0 double-overtime draw vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Sept. 13.

Jessica Snell - Hawai‘i Hilo (Jr., 5-1, D, Arroyo Grande, CA/Nipomo)...outstanding defensive play on Sept. 13...helped lead the Vulcans to a 0-0 twin-overtime tie vs. Hawai‘i Pacific.

Gina Tumasone (right) - Hawai‘i Hilo (So., 5-3, F, Newhal, CA/West Ranch)...excellent defensive play in the transition game on Sept. 13 vs. the Sea Warriors...helped guide the Vulcans to a 0-0 twin-overtime tie vs. Hawai‘i Pacific.

Mary Wheeler - Dominican (CA) (Fr., 5-4, F, Edgewood, WA/Puyallup)...scored an insurance goal for the Penguins on Sept. 13 in a 2-0 win over NDNU.
